💗 Sharing my FAVORITE + my sisters FAVORITE Lizzie Mcguire Season 1 Episodes 🧡

My sisters and I have each chosen a series to watch together and have been rotating between them ONE episode at a time! 💗 In my last post, I went over all of our FAVORITE Saved By The Bell season one episodes! 💓 Now, it's time for the series my older (middle child) sister chose.... LIZZIE MCGUIRE!!! 🧡

First off, I HAVE to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister Alyssa (Back to Disney)!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Not ONLY did she choose this series to re-watch, but I'm posting this on her BIRTHDAY! This series holds SO much early 2000s nostalgia! 🧡 I actually don't have as many memories of watching the episodes as I do of playing the board game! 😳

 

 

But, my sisters and I MUST have watched A LOT of episodes to be able to answer the trivia cards! 💗

I also had these FABULOUS boots as a kid that I wore in elementary school! 🠟 Was I stylin' or was I STLYIN'?!? 😂

The memories of watching this series lives somewhere in my sub-conscious because anytime I watch it I get an immediate NOSTALGIC feeling! 🧡 The last time I watched this series was actually with my older (middle child) sister back in 2021 and let's just say... my twenty-one-year-old-self viewed this series VERY differently than my twenty-five-year-old-self! 👀😲💗

As we watch each episode of the THREE series, we give them a heart-rating! 🧡

I created these heart-ratings for my sisters and I to help keep track of our FAVORITE episodes! 😀 Here are the colored hearts and what they mean for this series... 

💗 - LOVED it! A FAV, for sure!

🧡 - Really LIKED it. I enjoyed watching it, but I wouldn't call it an absolute FAV!

🤍 - Semi-liked it. Either it was just BORING or it had some negative things I didn't like about it, like problematic comments.

💔 - DIDN'T LIKE IT AT ALL. Most of the episode was NOT enjoyable! 

This post is ALL for the HIGHEST heart-rated episodes that my sisters and I had for season ONE of Lizzie Mcguire! The TOP heart is the RAREST to get and I don't hand them out to just ANY episode! 😎 I have to really LOVEEE an episode for it to get the HIGHEST heart! 💗🧡💗

 FAVORITE EPISODE #1

 Pool Party (S1E4)

Technically, this is the PILOT episode of the series, even though it aired as the FOURTH episode! 🙉🙊 This episode feels SO different than the rest and you can definitely tell they were going to go in a slightly MORE dramatic direction than what the series turned out to be! 💗 

At first, I was sad when this episode ended knowing that we weren't going to get an episode this UNHINGED again with the mom just being SO dramatic!!! 😂 But, then I was glad we got more of a feel-good series that still has some dramatic moments mixed with more FUN moments too! 🧡

This episode had a serious vibe to it and I LOVE it for a one-off episode, but I am glad we got more HAPPY vibes in all the other episodes! 💗 This one is totally UNHINGED, though! That's why I marked it as the HIGHEST- rated heart! 🧡

 Misadventures in Babysitting (S1E8)

I put this as a BROKEN heart, but I think it deserves a THIRD heart (white) because of the phone call moment at the end of the episode! 📞👀 

I didn't like this episode that much because it was pretty annoying! 😳 Usually, I have BEEF with Gordo in MOST episodes because he's just SO toxic, but Miranda was a little annoying in this episode too! 😥 There were some comments I didn't like in this episode and it was just a bit boring! 😬 My older (middle child) sister LOVED it, though! 💗

 Bad Girl McGuire (S1E11)

This episode was another BORING one to me! 🙊🙈 I gave it a THIRD heart because I feel like the main storyline didn't wrap-up that good. I mean, I guess not all "bad" kids turn out to be "softies" underneath, but I thought this episode was going to teach that even the "bad" kids are just regular kids underneath! But, instead, Lizzie sort of turns rude at the end of this episode when she ditches the "bad girl" for her "real" friends again! 🙄 Maybe if they would have shown Angel (the bad girl) being MORE bad in this episode then I would have understood the ending more, but to me, Angel was ALL talk with A LOT of the stuff she said. I don't know. She did put gum in Lizzie's hair and got her in trouble for cheating! The main storyline just needed some more attention. 👀

I NEVER got to this episode when I ranked some "new look" episodes (here)! So, I'm glad my sister chose this as a TOP heart so that I could FINALLY talk about it! 🧡

 Come Fly With Me (S1E13)

This episode would have gotten a FIRST heart from me because Lizzie & Miranda FINALLY stuck up for themselves against Gordo's TOXICITY! 👏🙌 But, because Gordo was EXTRA annoying in this episode, I had to give it a second heart! 😔 Thanks a lot, Gordo. 😡

This episode was really FUN, though, because it was a school dance episode with a COOL rat-pack theme that took over the ENTIRE episode! 💗 I LOVED seeing all of their retro outfits! 🧡

Gordo is ABSOLUTE trash in this episode, though! The fact that he gaslights the girls at the end by basically acting as if he said NONE of the things they said he said (which he did in fact say) is INSANE!!! 😡 Honestly, if Gordo wasn't in MOST of the episodes, then I can guarantee there would be MORE top-rated heart episodes on this list! 😓

 Obsession (S1E16)

💗 - Me

This and the PILOT episode were the ONLY ones to receive the HIGHEST-rated heart from me! 😲 This episode was another UNHINGED one! 👏 Lizzie is SUPER relatable in this episode the MORE and MORE she freaks out about feeling like she has NO control over things that matter and NEED fixed in this world! 🌎 

I feel like this episode can relate to worrying about things even outside of "going green," even though that was a GOOD message too! 💚 Gordo's storyline wasn't shown as much in this episode, which is another reason why it's one of my FAVORITES! 🙌 MOST of his scenes were montages! 👏🧡

This is an episode where I actually remember the Matt storyline too without having to go back and see what it was! 👌 His storyline was FUNNY too and I LOVED the scene where they BOTH got sent home from school and talked to the parents in the kitchen! 💗 

I also want to quickly note how Miranda was the ONLY supportive friend to Lizzie in this episode when Gordo ONLY cared about himself! 🙄 Even when Lizzie apologized at the end, Miranda still said she had a point and would start to cut up the soda can/bottle plastic things to save the dolphins and do you want to know Gordo's reaction to Lizzie talking about her NEXT project of helping animals?!? He ROLLS his eyes!!! 😡 The BOY literally ignored her during the ENTIRE episode and has the audacity to roll his eyes when she talks about helping innocent shelter animals! 😠 TRASH!

Before we officially wrap-things up, I do want to share this scene from the LAST episode of the season that to me is a stand-out scene from ALL Disney Channel shows! 👏 Where's the Oscar for this scene?!? 🏆💗

That was SUCH a raw and REAL moment that BOTH of them acted out PERFECTLY! 👏 You could see the moment when what the dad was saying clicked with Lizzie and then, BOTH of them going for ice cream to talk more was SO sweet! 🍦🧡

Once I realized the thing holding me back from LOVING the episodes was Gordo's character, then I started ignoring him and began liking the episodes MORE! 🧡 Gordo is one of the MOST toxic characters I've watched in a TV series, especially Disney Channel! 😳 He gaslights Lizzie and Miranda SO much! 😡 The MOST upsetting thing is how much Lizzie takes in what Gordo tells her as if her being excited or happy or even worried about something is ONLY valid if Gordo agrees! 😡 It's SO sad because I feel like Lizzie's self-confidence would grow SO much if she was just friends with Miranda and didn't have to worry about keeping up with what Gordo deemed as right or wrong! 😔

Lizzie having to ALWAYS look for Gordo's "approval" is SO hard to watch and I have to ignore it in the episodes or my head might explode like animated Lizzie's! 🤯 It's CRAZY because he'll look down on them for something, then be a hypocrite and change his mind to fit whatever he wants to do! 😡

How many eyes rolls can I fit on this page?!? LOL. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Moving onto something MORE positive...

The LAST time I re-watched this series, my twenty-one-year-old-self found MOST of the Matt/parents storylines to be BORING! 😬 But, my twenty-five-year-old-self finds them MORE interesting than EVER before! 👏💗 I think it's because I was still young trying to relate to what Matt in the storylines was going through because I didn't feel as old as the parents! But, since twenty-five is SO old (LOL), I actually relate MORE to the parents with their sarcasm and "adult-life" jokes! 😂 I'm NOT a parent (nor do I want to be... hey, I'm NOT that old), but I thought it was FUN seeing if their parenting advice/moments would epically fail or be a success! 👌👀 

The MAIN reason you'll see A LOT of THIRD (white hearts) on my list is because of Gordo's character! 😓 The other characters would make negative comments here and there too, but Gordo was the MAIN culprit! 😕
