🏆 My Soy Luna Season 1 Rewatch (Part Three ~ Ranking EVERY roller-skating routine) 🧡

Let's celebrate this week by beginning the FIRST of the LAST three Soy Luna season one re-watch posts! 🎉🧡 

I can't believe there are only THREE posts left (including this one)! 😲 I've been working on editing ALL three of the final season one posts before I began typing this one! 💻 So, it's CRAZY that it's finally time to share everything I've been working on! 💛

This post is ALL about the roller-skating routines performed throughout season one! 🧡 

Season one is the ONLY season that had duo-skating competitions, which is one of the MANY reasons why season one stands out from the rest of the series! 💛

The FIRST half of season one (episodes 1-40) focused on the duo-skating competitions and the SECOND half of the season (episodes 41-80) switched to group skating competitions, which would be the ONLY type of competitions they'd participate in from here on out! 💛🧡💛

For this post, I'll be ranking the duo-skating and group competitions separately! 🧡

Also, I have ranked Ambar & Matteo's and Luna & Simon's duo-skating routines before (here), but this post is going to include EVERY duo-skating routine! 💛👏 I haven't looked at that post since I posted it, so I'm VERY curious to look at it after typing this one to see if my ranking has changed! 👀

Well, this has been a pretty short intro, but that's GOOD because we get to roll right into this post! 🧡

There were FIVE different couples out of the main characters that participated in the duo-skating competitions! 🧡

There are a TOTAL of THIRTEEN duo-skating routines and each duo brings their own unique styles to the rinks! 🧡

Before we see ALL of the AMAZING routines, most of the competitions opened up with a little FUN mini-performance that featured Tamara! 💛 Let's take a look! 🧡

I remember when I FIRST ranked Ambar, Matteo, Luna, and Simon's routines that I really focused on the skills category because I figured the routines with the MOST tricks/skills were the BEST! 💛 But, this time around I've really looked at the routines overall and how well the performance of each routine flowed! 🧡 

So, are you ready to see ALL of the duo-skating routines that were ONLY featured in season one?!? 💛 I was hoping you'd say that! 🧡

#13 - Jim & Nico (Invisibles) 

This was Jim and Nico's LAST duo-skating routine! ⏳ This routine was for the semi-finals and sadly, they placed LAST with this routine! 😬 The beginning of the routine starts off strong, but they seem to lose energy and synchronization towards the end of it! 👀 This isn't an awful routine, but it's not my favorite because it's missing the storytelling element that you'll see in upcoming performances! 🧡 I do like the turn sequence, though, and the glide/leg lift at the end! 💛

#12 - Yam & Ramiro (Cuando Bailo)

This was Yam and Ramiro's ONLY duo-skating routine and it's because they were eliminated during the FIRST competition! 😬 Due to Ramiro thinking they didn't need to rehearse and being a little over-confident, this routine ended up being a bit messy and not synchronized! 😳 I LOVE the song choice and they had some GOOD moves to match the beat, but the routine became too disheveled and ended on a not-so-good note! 💛 A for effort, though... which is not spelled with an A... I'm confused now... why is that a saying?!? 😂

#11 - Jim & Nico (A Rodar Mi Vida)

This was Jim and Nico's FIRST duo-skating routine and it feels a bit on the slow side, but I think it's because the song is a slowed-down mellow version of A Rodar Mi Vida! 🧡🎵 This routine doesn't include a ton of tricks/skills, but it flows better because there aren't any mess-ups during it and they seem to keep their chill groove throughout the routine! 💛 There's not too much to say about it other than that it's a solid routine! 👌

#10 - Jim & Nico (Un Destino) 

This was Jim and Nico's SECOND routine and the BEST one of theirs in my opinion! 🧡 I LOVE how Jim and Nico use different songs for each of their routines because the other duo's repeat songs! 💛 I LOVE the song Un Destino and think it's the PERFECT choice for this routine! 🎶 This is a solid routine with a GOOD flow, GREAT timing, and SPECTACULAR connection between the two of them! 🧡 They are in-synch and following the same rhythm! 👏

#9 - Delfi & Gaston (Corazon) 

This was Delfi and Gaston's SECOND and LAST duo-skating routine, but fun fact, this was actually not going to be their last! 😲 They did qualify for the next round, but because of Delfi purposefully knocking down a sign due to being upset at Gaston, they were disqualified! 😳 This routine isn't as solid as the previous two because they do have some mess-ups! 👀 But, for some reason, I am vibing with Delfi and Gaston's routines! 😂 I think it's the beat of the song and the light feel to the routine that makes it flow well even with the mess-ups! 🧡 

Honestly, I never paid too much attention to Delfi and Gaston's routines, but during this re-watch I am actually liking them paired together for the competition and they seem to have a natural connection on the rink! 💛 I LOVE how this routine has A LOT of partner work and doesn't have them separating during most of the routine! 🧡 

It might be a bit messy towards the end, but I still enjoy watching this routine! 💛

#8 - Luna & Simon (Valiente)

What's CRAZY is that this is the WINNING routine that sealed Luna and Simon's spot in the final duo-skating competition! 😲 This routine WON against EVERYONE else's routines and I'm not saying I hate it, but it's my LEAST favorite routine of theirs! 😬 It's not horrible, but it's a little messy here and there and I do feel it lacks some energy compared to their other routines! 👀 

Don't get me wrong, though! ☝ I do still enjoy watching this routine and I do feel there are GREAT parts of it like the moment in the GIF above! 🠉🧡 The music is also an interesting choice and I do like it, but that might be the little missing piece in the routine because the song choice is instrumental and doesn't give off as much upbeat energy as routines with songs that have lyrics! 💛

#7 - Luna & Simon (Valiente)

This routine was Luna and Simon's FIRST routine EVER, which makes it a little more special than the rest! 🧡 They bring the energy that was missing in their previous routine and seem SUPER happy to be on the rink competing! 💛 Now, one thing that bothers me during this and the previous routine is how Luna has these "dizzy" kind of confused moments that I get add a bit of drama to the routine, but did it have to happen in BOTH routines? 🤔 It takes away from the overall performance, but maybe it's just me nitpicking... which is another saying I don't get... who came up with the word nitpicking?!? 😂

My FAVORITE little part of this routine is the VERY end when they hook skates and then do a turn sequence! 💛 This routine might be a little all over the place, but it's FUN to watch and they seem HAPPY while performing it! 🧡

#6 - Ambar & Matteo (Mirame A Mi)

This is Ambar and Matteo's THIRD and LAST duo-skating routine and this routine shows how they got their nicknames Reina de la Pista (Queen of the rink) and Rey de la Pista (King of the rink)! 🧡👑 Their skill level is top-notch! 👌 My BIGGEST question is how did this routine lose to Luna and Simon's routine that I ranked number-eight?!? 🤔 This routine has WAY more skill, energy, and synchronization! 💛 

The reason that is semi made clear in the episode as to why this routine lost to Luna and Simon's is that the lift at the end didn't seem planned and was "messy"! 👀 Even though Ambar did throw in that lift at the very LAST moment, I don't think it's that messy and it's definitely not a reason to put this routine lower than Luna and Simon's! 😳 I promise I enjoy watching Luna and Simon skate! 😂 I just feel this routine is WAY more solid than the routine that WON the semi-finals! 🧡

Ambar and Matteo bring the energy and skill to this routine and the only flaw is that it's too short! 💛

Before we get into my top FIVE routines, let's take a look at some of the duo-skating routines that were performed by characters from other rinks and NOT Jam & Roller! 💛

#5 - Delfi & Gaston (Corazon)

I CAN'T with the shimmy in the GIF! 😂😂😂

This was Delfi and Gaston's FIRST routine and again, their routines are underrated! 🧡 I LOVE the partner work and how this routine shows the meaning of a duo routine! 💛 Again, the song choice is PERFECT and gives off a sweet romantic vibe to the performance! 🧡 Gaston is a character that just makes me laugh for no reason other than just being in a scene and I LAUGHED multiple times watching him perform this routine! 💛 

This is a sweet routine that isn't filled with too much and is relaxing to watch! 🧡

#4 - Ambar & Matteo (Mirame A Mi)

This was Ambar and Matteo's FIRST routine and their skills are top-notch! 👏🧡 This routine is full of spunk and energy! 💛 If I remember correctly, I think this was my second favorite duo-skating routine when I ranked them in 2021 (here), but we'll see if I'm right in a few! 🧡 I don't want to look at that post again until I'm done typing about my ranking this time around because I don't want to be influenced by my past ranking! 💛

This routine is full of tricks/skills, but it also has some slower parts with them just doing arm movements, which creates a better flow for the choreography! 🧡 My FAVORITE part of this routine is when they both spin on one leg! 💛 This is a solid and upbeat routine and it definitely shows Ambar and Matteo's skills on the rink! 🧡

#3 - Luna & Simon (Eres)

This was Luna and Simon's SECOND routine and it's my FAVORITE of their three! 🧡 First off, it is performed to the instrumental music of Eres, which is one of my ALL-TIME favorite Soy Luna songs! ♪ I LOVE how this routine feels the most put together out of their three routines and they seem SUPER in-synch and it's a really peaceful routine to watch! 💛 

I didn't mention anything about the red rope thing that their other routine also included and that's because I don't think they should have used it in two routines because it was special for just this routine and would have made this one standout more! 🧡 I prefer the red rope thing in this routine because one of my FAVORITE parts is when Simon swings her and she uses the rope to swing back and forth! 💛

This routine and the next are the most storytelling routines and they actually have similar themes! 🧡 In this routine, you see Simon reaching for Luna as she skates backwards reaching for him and Luna even does a little move where she covers her face as if hiding from Simon and those moves create this cute theme of a little secret crush/flirting game and we ALL know Simon can portray that theme well! 😂💛 

What's CRAZY is that this routine is the one that they didn't place with to move onto the next round and if Delfi and Gaston wouldn't have been disqualified, then this would have been Luna and Simon's LAST duo-skating routine! 😲 To me, this is Simon and Luna's MOST solid routine, but I think they probably didn't place high because Luna fell during their FIRST time performing this routine! 😳 

They did get a second chance to start over, but maybe the judges couldn't score it high because technically they did mess up their first try! 😬 Honestly, this should have been saved for their LAST routine because I could see them winning the semi-finals with this routine versus the one they actually won with! 🧡

#2 - Ambar & Matteo (Profugos) 

This was Ambar and Matteo's SECOND routine and it's my FAVORITE out of their three routines, as well! 🧡 This routine also uses one of my FAVORITE Soy Luna songs and I'm glad they used it because other than them rehearsing this song in Ambar's living room, this is the ONLY other time they sang it together in the series! 😲 

This routine has a similar theme to the previous one because Matteo is "chasing" Ambar throughout this routine! 💛 It's the little things in this routine that make it so GREAT! 🧡 Like Ambar blowing Matteo a kiss and him catching it and Ambar ducking when Matteo goes to "hug" her! 💛 Again, those little things tell a story and it's FUN to watch some storytelling being added to the skating routines, especially the duo-skating routines! 🧡

This isn't their most jam-packed routine, but to me the theme of it is what ranks it SO high and they do still show A LOT of skill throughout their performance! 💛 This was a WINNING performance for this round of duo-skating competitions and I can see why! 🧡

Before we see my FIRST choice and my most FAVORITE duo-skating routine, let's take a look at a few more FUN BTS videos of the different Jam & Roller competitions! 🧡

Now, are you ready to see my NUMBER-ONE favorite duo-skating routine?!? 💛 The BEST has been saved for LAST, for sure! 🧡

#1 - Luna & Matteo (Alas)

Before I even began editing these routines to rank, I knew this was going to be my NUMBER-ONE duo-skating routine! 🧡 It ALWAYS and will ALWAYS be my FAVORITE duo routine! 💛 

This was originally Luna and Simon's routine to perform at the final duo-skating competition, but it became Luna and Matteo's when Simon didn't arrive in time to perform! 🧡 Yes, it's sad that Simon worked SO hard and didn't get to perform with Luna for the finals, but the Lutteo part of me is ALL for Simon missing out! 😬 Sorry Simon! 😢 

The song choice, the choreography, the emotions, the hype around this being the FINAL duo routine... it ALL adds up to this performance being the BEST one! 💛 My FAVORITE part of this routine is when the music slows down and Luna leans back into Matteo's arms (the GIF above)! 🧡💛🧡

This routine is filled with some GREAT skills/tricks, as well! 💛 Leaps, turn sequences, lifts... it's ALL included in this routine! 🧡 This routine even ends with a surprise... 😘 But, even though Matteo says it was apart of the choreography, we ALL know it was more than that! 💛 You won't see that little surprise ending because it's not truly a part of the routine, but you can go to my ranking from 2021 (here) and see it if you really are a Lutteo shipper! 😂

They definitely saved the BEST routine for LAST and I'm glad they did because I will ALWAYS love this final duo-skating routine! 🧡

This routine doesn't have a score board picture for it, but they sadly didn't win FIRST place! 😢 That's okay, though! 💛 This routine is a WINNER in my eyes! 🧡

Here is the routine that did win the final duo-skating competition! 🎥 Do you think it's better than Luna and Matteo's? 🤔 I do actually really like this routine, but in my opinion, it's of course not better than Luna and Matteo's! 💛

I ranked Luna and Simon's LAST routine LAST on that ranking and that lines up with exactly how I ranked it in this ranking! 🧡 I guess I've always liked that routine the least out of their three routines! 😬 Which is CRAZY because again, it was their WINNING routine! 🤯

In my 2021 post, I did the SAME exact thing for this ranking and ranked Luna and Simon's FIRST routine higher than their LAST one and I even ranked Ambar and Matteo's LAST routine exactly above Luna and Simon's, which is exactly what I did in this post! 🧡 Dang, for it to have been almost TWO years ago, I'm staying consistent! 😂

OH MY GOODNESS! 💛 If you take out the other duos in this ranking, then this ranking is an IDENTICAL... I repeat an IDENTICAL match with my 2021 ranking!!! 🤯 Like, how?!? I mean, I am still myself, but I didn't know that I would have the EXACT same ranking as two years ago, especially when I haven't even look at my 2021 post since posting it! 😲

I thought I had ranked Ambar and Matteo's FIRST routine as number-two on that ranking, but NOPE! 👀 I ranked their Profugos routine as my number-two just like in this post! 😳 I even mentioned how I LOVED the storyline in their Profugos routine! 😲

I mean, I really don't know why I'm shocked because I wrote that post and I am still me! 😂 But, I just didn't know I'd have the exact SAME opinions as two years ago! 🧡 

Well, this duo-skating section of this post is ending in shock! 😂😲

When the duo-skating competitions ended in episodes 40/41, they sadly NEVER returned and group competitions took their place! 🧡 

The group skating routines bring a whole NEW dynamic to the rink! 💛 MORE skaters = MORE going on = MORE tricks/skills! 🧡

There were FOUR group skating routines in season one, but one of the three was never shown and was only talked about in the episodes! 💛 TWO of the three were routines that split the characters into TWO groups who competed to see who would represent Jam & Roller at the regionals competition, which is the competition never shown! 🧡 The battle between the TWO teams was shown, though, and both teams had different and unique styles! 💛

Jam & Roller did place in the regionals competition and the team changed some members and participated in the FINAL skating competition of the season, The Intercontinental! 🧡👏

I'll be ranking the THREE group routines that were shown during the season and you'll get to see how different the duo routines are from the group routines! 💛

#3 - Luna's Team (Un Destino)

I'm naming the TWO different teams "Luna's team" and "Ambar's team" because they were basically the team captains and it would be too long to type EVERY member of the groups names! 🧡 

The tricky thing about group routines is it's VERY easy to tell when someone messes up and is out of synch with everyone else! 😬 Group routines have to be VERY precise and have good timing to make the routine flow and look good! 💛 I LOVE the song choice for this routine! 🎵 I LOVE their outfits, especially Luna's because it gives me Zenon vibes! 💿 I LOVE how they smile throughout the whole routine and seem to be having A LOT of fun skating! 🧡 

They do some pretty good tricks in this routine like intertwining between each other and doing smooth turns, but they also have some slower moments like when the girls kind of stand there and lip-sync for a moment while the boys in the background do some turns! 💛 I feel bad for ranking it last out of the three because you can tell they were really trying, but this routine is just missing some more skills and tricks! 🧡 I do really enjoy watching this routine, though, and I think most of it is really GREAT! 💛

Sadly, this routine didn't beat Ambar's teams in the actual episode and for this ranking! 😬

#2 - Ambar's Team (Camino)

Sadly, this routine had SO many talking parts that took over the actual routine and I'm SO sad that they didn't upload a full version on YouTube of the performance without ALL the talking! 😢 But, from what we do see of the routine, Ambar's team has more synchronicity and MORE tricks! 🧡 

Of course, Ambar and Matteo are the center couple in this routine, but that's because they bring the skills with their lifts and turns! 💛 My FAVORITE part is the beginning when the guys are on one knee and the girls hold their hands and twirl around to their other side (the GIF above)! 🧡

This routine beats Luna's teams because of the skill level presented and it's another solid routine with GOOD choreography and GREAT tricks! 💛👏

Before we see the LAST Jam & Roller skating routine, let's see what their rivals brought to the rink! 👀

#1 - Jam & Roller (Alas)

Of course this is my FAVORITE group routine! 🧡 It's the LAST skating routine of the season, which means EVERYONE brings ALL their energy to the rink floor! 💛

This routine is jam-packed with skill after skill after skill! 👏🧡 The lifts, the teeter-totter move, the turn sequences, the leaps... EVERYTHING is packed into this routine! 💛

It's CUTE how the mid-season finale routine that Luna and Matteo did was to the song Alas and so is this FINAL routine, but this time EVERYONE sings it! 🎶

When the beginning of the routine starts out with Luna and Ambar coming down from the ceiling on a moon, you know it's going to be an AMAZING performance and it is! 🌙🧡

One of my FAVORITE parts is when the song slows down and you hear Luna and Matteo singing the bridge part together as if to tie-in when they both skated to the song for the duo competition! 💛 It's a CUTE little Lutteo moment for the FINAL routine! 🧡

This routine holds A LOT of emotions and you can tell everyone is having FUN performing for the last time this season and even everyone in the audience is clapping and hyping them up! 💛 They do WIN the competition, which is WELL deserved with a routine like this one! 🏆👏🧡

AHHHH! Let's watch the VERY last routine for this post and the VERY last routine of Soy Luna season one! 💛🧡💛

I still can't believe my duo-skating routines were identical to my ranking from 2021! 🤯 Which duo and group routine is your FAVORITE? 💛
