π Ranking The Skating Competition Routines From Soy Luna Season One ~ Duos Edition (Luna/Simon y Ambar/Matteo) ππ
Let's celebrate this week by talking about one of my all time FAVORITE shows (if not my very favorite)... SOY LUNA!!! I have been waiting to finally post about this amazing series and I can't even describe my excitement while typing this! Ahhhh... I'm so excited (Estoy tan emocionada)!!
If you haven't seen Soy Luna, it is a tv show about a girl named Luna who moves from Mexico to Argentina and starts a whole new chapter of her life while finding a missing one at the same time! This show is so special to me because it fanned a flame for the desire to get to know new cultures and a beautiful language! I've been listening to Spanish music ever since and it's a big part of my life! I could go on and on about how much this show has impacted my life, but I'll stick with this for now... Este espectΓ‘culo es muy especial y ΓΊnico en su clase (this show is very special and one of a kind)!! ππ
Speaking of learning about new cultures, I want to wish everyone a happy Dia de los Muertos!
Soy Luna had a whole episode dedicated to this fun celebration day and to celebrate along with the characters here is one of my favorite moments from that episode! ππ
Quiero Verte Sonreir (I Want To See You Smile π)
Soy Luna has so many fun things happening in each season. One of those being roller-skating competitions! Season one was the only season to have a duo competition where the characters paired up and took to the rink with lots of enthusiasm and sometimes drama. I have chosen to rank all of the Luna, Simon, Ambar, and Matteo routines because they were my favorites to watch and a lot of the other routines had some chorography errors due to the drama happening off the rink. So, are you ready to watch these incredible routines? I figured you'd say that! π

(from least to most favorite...
but they're all my favorites... shhh.. don't tell anyone π)
Before we begin, we have to let Tamera open up the competition with her own routine...

#7 - Luna y Simon Routine 3 (Valiente - Instrumental)
I feel so bad for putting any routine by Luna and Simon last, but this one did have some tiny technique errors, which is interesting because this is the routine that put them over the top to win the semi-finals. I love how happy they are performing this routine! The techno-beat change at the beginning is fun and unique and adds some energy that lasts throughout the performance! They add more difficult skills in this routine and while that is cool to see... some of them were a little messy. But that is okay because this is only their third competition EVER, so they still did great! They definitely show their love for skating during this routine! π
#6 - Luna y Simon Routine 1 (Valiente)
For this to be Luna and Simon's first ever skating competition they did AMAZING! I love how they sang "Valiente" as they skated and smiled throughout the whole thing! The reason it ranks second to last is because there wasn't much choreography during the routine and there also was a long pause in the middle of it. I still loved their energy and how happy they looked while skating! Also, Luna's outfit is super cute and fun! π
#5 - Ambar y Matteo Routine 3 (MΓrame a mΓ - Remix)
#4 - Luna y Simon Routine 2 (Eres - Instrumental)
Personally, I think this was Luna and Simon's best routine as a duo! Even though they don't have as many skilled moves as Ambar and Matteo, you can see their hearts shine through this routine! I love how "Eres" is playing in the background, which was actually a sneak peak of the song before it was sung by Simon many episodes later. I love how they use the rope as a swing, which adds to the playful/peacefulness of the routine. They both seem to be enjoying each others company and just having fun! Their smiles say it all! ππ
You can see Ambar and Matteo's determination to win during this routine! This is the first ever competitive routine we see from them in the series and they brought their game faces! Their moves are crisp and they don't miss a beat. Again, they have been skating competitively a lot longer than a lot of the other characters and that shows throughout this routine. There is nothing lacking in the choreography and the energy is definitely amped-up! This is an all-around smooth-skilled routine!
This is my favorite duo-routine by Ambar and Matteo because it includes a storyline throughout it! You can see Matteo trying to get Ambar's attention throughout the routine, but Ambar evades him and it's sort of a tug-of-war scenario between the two throughout their performance. They finally meet in the middle and Matteo spins Ambar with skilled precision! This routine has fewer tricks than their other ones, but the storyline aspect is fun and different. Also, since there aren't a lot of tricks, they do more dance-type choreography, which I love! The one thing I don't like about this performance is that I wanted it to be longer, which isn't really a negative thing at all. It just means their routine was that good! π
See you next Tuesday for more fun and more celebrating! ππ
