👧 Ranking Ten New Kid in School Episodes ~ Disney Channel & More 👦🎒

Let's celebrate this week by continuing to celebrate the back to school season! 🏫

Today, we're digging deep into what it's like to be the new kid in school! 😳 I've experienced being the new kid once in my life and let me just tell you, being the new kid in sixth grade is no cup of tea! 🍵 And I don't even like tea! Middle school is brutal enough, but imagine being the new kid three months into sixth grade! Wild! 😵

I LOVED getting to watch these ten episodes because some of them had very good lessons about how to treat new students and help them make friends! 💓 As an adult, you get to experience being the "new kid" all over again when you begin working, but that's a whole different story! ✋ However, some of the lessons taught in these episodes can apply to anything in life! 💓

For all of my themed episodes posts, I use a random list generator to choose which ten episodes I'll rank! 📝 This list has some of my least favorite episodes of certain series, but is also has some of my FAVORITES, as well! 📺

#10 - The New Guy (I Didn't Do It - S1E3) 

Do you want to know something really embarrassing that just made me cry and laugh the same time? 😢😂 This episode is all about the new guy basically being rejected by EVERYONE, which I HATED so much, but get this... his is the only name I forgot to add to the list of new students in my GIF! 😳 As if I didn't feel bad for the guy already, I go and forget about him completely! Sorry new guy! 😬 Here is his name, though! ↓

New Student #1 - Tom Bigham ✅

This episode is my least favorite because the friend group acts completely immature about the whole situation with the new guy and basically uses him throughout the whole episode! 🙄 Could they not have just had a conversation with the guy and tell him that he tells the same story too much? ✋ I was Tom's biggest fan in this episode and was waiting for the moment he stood up for himself, which does happen, thankfully! 👏 I haven't been vibing with this series as much as I thought I would because sometimes the main characters just seem too stuck-up! The only episode I think I've ever ranked high was the cheerleading episode and that's because it had a bit of girl power in it! 💓

Tom Bigham is the only reason I'd watch this episode again! 👦

#9 - My Oh Maya (The Suite Life On Deck - S3E4) 

New Student #2 - Maya Bennett ✅

This is another series I'm not the biggest fan of, which means it isn't a surprise that it's pretty low on this list! 📝 There are two main storylines happening in this episode and I prefer the non-new student storyline that involves Marcus's character! 📺 Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of Maya's character in this episode! First, she says she isn't going to go out with Zack. Then, when he find a different date, Maya ends up making fun of her by treating her as if she's dumb! 🙄 Maya could have just been clear from the beginning of what she wanted and Zack wouldn't have asked out another girl! It's called COMMUNICATION people! ✋ And, making fun of people is something you learn NOT to do wayyyy before you're in sea school! 🚢

If you read my Valentine's Day post (here), then I included most of the Zack and Maya scenes in that post and asked if you shipped them or not! 🚢 I think my answer was inconclusive in that post, but in this post, I say Zack deserves better! 💓 However, I didn't like some of the comments Zack made in this episode either! ✖

This episode really only ranked higher than the last one because Marcus's scenes were somewhat funny, but Cody was the real MVP of this episode! 👦 He had very few moments, but he was still the MVP! 👏 His advice about being a girl's friend first was spot on! ✔

#8 - InfANT (A.N.T. Farm - S2E2) 

New Student #3 - Baby Sebastian ✅

This episode was A LOT better than the previous ones and had a VERY good message about adults pressuring kids to explore their talents! 🎷🎨🏈 If not for the secondary storyline, this episode might have ranked a bit higher, but the secondary storyline with Cameron, Lexi, and Angus wasn't my favorite! ✖ 

China's character was VERY mature in this episode and knew that making a baby learn a talent wasn't right! ✋ This episode got deep with it's message and it's crazy that child actors were the ones sharing the message! 🤯 

This episode had me laughing and left me impressed with the important message shared! 💓

#7 - Girl Meets The Secret of Life (Girl Meets World - S2E3)

New Student #4 - Isaiah Babineaux ✅

This episode. THIS EPISODE. Where do I begin with this episode? 🤔 Girl Meets World is a CRAZY show! 😵 The kids are the adults and the adults are the kids! 😲 That's how it literally seems with every episode I watch of this series! It seems as if the kids have stolen the adults dialogue and vice versa! 🙈 While that used to bother me, I go into each episode now and know that it's going to make me laugh with how unrealistic it is! 😂

Now, don't get me wrong! Some of the episodes have important messages that are handled well... but, this episode isn't one of them! ✖ This episode gets semi-heavy with some past secrets that involve Lucas's character and the new kid, which are the only two characters I really liked in this episode! 💓 Riley acted so selfish in this episode and truly acted like the world revolved around her! Lucas's past was his to live and his to share when he wanted to. Riley getting upset with him was ridiculous! 😕 

Now, this episode is all about, what is the secret of life? 🤔 I'll let you find out the "secret" when you watch the clips, but I'm not sure how much I agree with the "secret" that Cory shares is the secret of life! 🌍 I'll share more of my thoughts once you know what the secret of life is according to this series! So, let's roll the clips! 🎬

So, the secret of life is that people change people! 😲 Here's my take on the secret...

I feel that people can influence people and inspire them, but it has to the the individual person who decides that they want to change. You can try to influence or just be a good light in someone's life, but that doesn't mean they will change or should change depending on the situation. 📺 In this episode's case, I feel that Lucas was in a different place with different people who influenced him in a way where he decided for himself to want to be like them, but it was his own decision. Not anyone else changing him. It was himself wanting to change. 💓 Does any of that make sense? Do you believe people change people or only influence them? 🌍

This episode did provoke an interesting topic! 👏 

#6 - The New Guy (So Little Time - S1E15)

New Student #5 - Lennon Kincaid ✅

This series is a WHOLE vibe! 🧡 I haven't seen this series in a LONG time and have been enjoying getting to re-watch it for these themed posts! 💓 

It's funny because before going into this episode, I was telling my sister that I wish Riley and Larry ended up together and I asked her if she knew if they ever address in the season why they don't date and guess what?!? This episode is THAT episode. This episode is where the whole Riley and Larry relationship/friendship conversation finally happens! 👏 It was sweet and handled well, but my heart did break for Larry and my shipper heart sank! 💔🚢

Now, this post isn't about that storyline, though! It's about the new kid's storyline, which involves Chloe's character! 💓 I was a bit unsure of how I would feel seeing Lennon come into the series because there is a seven year age difference between the actors, which means that Ashley was in her teens and the actor who played Lennon was in his twenties! 😳 However, I didn't let the age gap bother me too much because the Olsen sisters had a big say in who their on-screen love interests were, which makes me feel slightly better about watching this episode! 📺

Now, Lennon's character isn't my favorite because he does seem like a stalker... 😳 But, it was fun to see the banter between him and Chloe! 💓 Their scenes did have some interesting camera work, though! The angles were interesting with the zooming in and out! 😂 

The parents had some scenes too, but I won't go into their storyline! It's complicated! 😬

#5 - Kevin Burke's Day Off (Two of a Kind - S1E22)

New Student #6 - Gabrielle ✅

I LOVE the vibes of So Little Time and thought that episode would have ranked higher than this one! However, this episode had better messages throughout the storylines and it had me laughing A LOT too! 💓

The friend group in I Didn't Do It need to learn from Mary-Kate about how to treat new students! 📕 I love how Mary-Kate didn't even care if Gabrielle was a bit different from everyone else and how she stuck-up for her when nobody else did! 👏 Her character was very mature throughout this whole episode! 💓

Ashley on the other hand was taught a valuable lesson on peer pressure! 👌 Ashley and Mary-Kate's storylines were handled very well and I don't think I found any faults in how the messages were presented in this episode! 👏 Hats off to the writers! 🎩

Now, where I disagree with the writers is at the very end of the episode when Ashley writes a column about the cheerleaders and insults a girl about her looks! I was expecting Kevin to correct her, but instead, he's all for it! ✖ Not good parenting. But, it was a small part and I think everything else was handled good! 👍

The adults storyline about taking a mental health day was another message that I was surprised was handled well due to this being a comedy sitcom! But, this episode shed a positive view on mental health, which is great! 👏

#4 - Control (H2O: Just Add Water - S2E2)

New Student #7 - Charlotte Watsford ✅

Sometimes it's hard to place H2O episodes on a rankings list because it's so different from A LOT of the other shows, but in a GOOD way! 💓 

I didn't know where to put it on this list solely because there weren't as many "new kid" moments in this episode compared to others! 📺 There were a lot of different storylines happening and Charlotte's wasn't the biggest one! ⏳

However, the episode as a whole would be one I would watch over the other ones considering I watch this series EVERY year! 🧡 My sisters and I just finished re-watching the WHOLE series and I have to say, I didn't dislike Charlotte's character as much as I remember doing in the past! ⏳ In this episode, she definitely shouldn't have been looking at Lewis's character because she could obviously see that he was dating Cleo! However, while Cleo was getting comforted by Emma and Rikki after she broke-up with Lewis, no one went to comfort Lewis, except for Charlotte! So, she did one thing nice in this season! 👏

This episode went from funny to sad real fast and my shipper heart broke when Cleo broke-up with Lewis! 😢💔 But, I do love how this episode touches on having to go through your parents getting divorced and how it can affect other relationships around you! 👏

It didn't show Charlotte's new student journey that much, but it did show some sweet moments between her and Lewis! 💓

#3 - New Kid In School (Hannah Montana - S1E14)

New Student #8 - Jake Ryan ✅

"Dude, I slayed you once. Don't make me slay you again." ~ Jake Ryan 2006

The Jake Ryan. THE Jake Ryan is the new kid and one who brings A LOT of attention to himself! 💓 He's the zombie-slayer on Zombie High and the boy I would have had a crush on if I was in that classroom! 😍 I sure did have a crush on him when I was seven and watched this episode for the first time! 💓

This episode has been one of my FAVORITES ever since I was a kid! 💓 Honestly, when it was randomly chosen for this list, I thought it would rank number-one hands down! 🙌 But, Miley's character was a little annoying in this episode! I mean, it's easy to just ignore a person if you don't like them! She didn't have to get so jealous of him and the attention he was getting! 👀

This was the prime era of Jake's character before the writers made him a cheater! 😡 He was so GREAT in this episode and honestly, he carried this WHOLE episode along with dandruff Danny! 👏 Dandruff Danny is savage in this episode! 💓

*I do not agree with them making fun of him and calling him Dandruff Danny, but he took it in stride and was the bigger person! You blow that dandruff on them, Danny! Good job! 👏

The outfits are on-point in this episode! 👌 Miley's opening outfit actually ranked number-one in one of my Valentine's Day posts (here)! I LOVE that outfit! 💓

Usually, I don't comment on the boys outfits because I'm a girl, but Jake Ryan's opening outfit is PERFECT for him! 👌 It's sophisticated with the blazer/suite jacket, but laidback with the hoodie underneath and t-shirt! 💓 No wonder he won hottie of the year! 😂😍

This episode is full of iconic lines and I'm sure none of us have forgotten the iconic moment when Miley told the reporter that she's Hannah Montana! 😲 This episode is still one of my ALL-TIME favorite episodes and it fills me with so much nostalgia that it's CRAZY! 💓 

The MVP award for this episode, though, goes to the random guy on the beach who tells Jake Ryan to say THE line! 👀 He was scary and funny at the same time! 😂

#2 - Starstruck (Taina - S2E11)

New Student #9 - Nicole Burke ✅

This series ALWAYS has me laughing! 😂 The vibe of this series reminds me of the vibe of where I grew-up and it's PERFECT! 💓 

This episode has a GREAT message about not judging someone before you know them and to not listen to rumors about someone! 👏 One of my BIGGEST pet peeves is when people make negative assumptions about people they don't know! 🙄 So, it's GREAT that this episode addresses just that! 💓 

The sass, the comedy, the drama, the music... EVERYTHING in this episode is amazing! 🧡 Maritza is so funny in this episode too! 😂

The secondary storyline with Renee and Lamar was also VERY funny! 👍 While editing this episode, I realized that I can watch this episode over and over again and not get tired of it! 👏

The song is one of the BEST parts, of course! 💓 For this series, Taina will zone out during certain scenes and a "music video" style scene will appear and it's awesome to literally be able to see a FULL music video during an episode! 👏 For this episode, Taina zone's out and sings a song about what it would be like if everyone was right about Nicole and she was just lying to Taina that she's a good person! 👀 

Is she just using Taina? Is Nicole like the evil character she plays on the fictional soap opera that Taina and Renee watch? 📺 Let's find out!

#1 - Thin Ice (Even Stevens - S2E7)

New Student #10 - Nelson Minkler ✅

There is no surprise that this episode is number-one because it's one of my FAVORTIES for so many reasons! 💓

First off, just look at the GIF and if you laugh, then I can guarantee that you'll be laughing throughout this WHOLE episode! 😂 

There are so many of my FAVORTIE moments in this episode that I don't even know where to begin! I LOVE every single storyline in this episode and think that the Ren and Nelson scenes aren't just funny, but sweet as well! 😊 The Twitty, Louis, and Tawny scenes are hilarious, as always! 😂 And, the Ren and Bobby scenes are cute! 😍

One major thing I LOVE about this episode that might go unnoticed is that this episode has SO many scenes that include the characters talking on the phone! 📞 One thing I absolutely LOVE about watching 90s and early 2000s shows is getting to see characters using home phones! I wish I could go back to my childhood days just so I can re-live the part of my life where home phones were the only phones I used! 💓 My sister had a Bratz phone that was shaped as lips and was the most uncomfortable thing to talk on! 😂 Sadly, before I was old enough to beg for my own home phone shaped as lips, cell phones came out and were the NEW thing! 😢 Home phones... I miss you! 😔

Seriously, though, the talking on the phone scenes are one of the reasons this episode is my number-one choice! 📞💓

Other scenes that got this episodes bumped up to the number-one spot are the ice-skating scenes! 💙⛸ I LOVE the scenes at the ice rink because they were shot at an actual ice rink and I LOVE how it takes the characters to an actual place other than school and their homes! 💓 

Sadly, just like with Jake Ryan, Disney Channel loves to turn sweet boys into cheaters! 😡 Bobby got put into the same boat as Jake Ryan, but in this episode he was so so SWEET! 😊 

At this point, I am just rambling on and on about how much I LOVE this episode! 💓 

So, to get to the actual theme of this post, I loved how Ren sticks by Nelson at the end of the episode and how it shows that old friends can pick up where they left off and be friends again! 💓 

Everyone was VERY funny in this episode and I LOVED the entire thing! 💓 Even though you won't get to see a lot of the Louis, Tawny, and Twitty scenes, trust me that they're hilarious! 😂

Now, while I was making that little colorful comparison list, it reminded me of something I've heard recently about school subject colors! 📚 

It never crossed my mind that as a kid I associated certain colors with the main subjects taught in school! 🤔 Green was ALWAYS for science! 💚 Blue was ALWAYS for math! 💙 Red was ALWAYS for social studies! 💓 And, yellow was ALWAYS for language arts! 💛

The other day, I watched a video of someone saying how there's been "controversy" over what colors belong with each subject! 😂 Isn't it crazy how different our minds can be with something as simple as associating colors with different things?!? 🤯 

Do you agree with my color choices for each subject? It'll be fun to see if your kid-self thought completely different from my kid-self because isn't that where the color association begins with school subjects? 😂💓 Thinking back, though, sometimes I switched red and yellow and made red for language arts and yellow for social studies! 😳
