πŸ‘° Ranking Nostalgic Pretend Marriage/Family Episodes ~ Disney Channel & More πŸ‘ΆπŸ’“

Let's celebrate this week by celebrating the last day of June!!! πŸŽŠπŸ””

The month of June actually holds quite a bit of events! πŸ’“ Weddings. πŸ‘° Father's Day. πŸ‘¨ And... a very special day to me... my birthday! πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³ My parents (now divorced ✌) actually got married in June... five years and four days before my birthday! πŸŽ‰

So, basically, June is a fun month full of celebrating! πŸŽ‰

If you've read my blog before, then you know that I LOVE talking about themed episodes! πŸ’“ The theme for this last day of June is, of course, weddings! But, not just any weddings... pretend ones! πŸ‘° Now, most of these episodes are more about what it's like to be a parent... but, some do have some fake weddings we get to attend! ✉

I always thought it was fun to watch characters having to take care of baby dolls, eggs, and bags of flour as if they were actually real babies! πŸ‘Ά Add in the comedy aspect of the shows and you have some fun episodes to watch! πŸ“Ί Which is exactly what today's post has... comedic episodes guaranteed to make you laugh... Okay... now I just sound like I'm promoting something here... πŸ˜‚

I found exactly TEN episodes to rank and I can't wait to share them with you! But, first we have the infamous disclaimer to read... ✍

*Disclaimer* Some of the episodes on this list are from TV series I've never shared on my blog before. They are ones that contain some very adult topics from time to time. I do have a limit on how much "adult" content I can handle. I will let you know which episodes have some content that I'm not the biggest fan of, but they are mostly all clean except for a few comments here and there! πŸ‘Œ

The fun thing about doing themed posts is that I get to watch episodes from series that I haven't seen in a looooooong time! πŸ“Ί However, just because I share about an OG series on my blog doesn't mean I support any content from reboots or episodes I haven't gotten to watch again! πŸ‘

It's fun getting to watch some of these series by the themed episodes I pick out because it's as if I get to react to the series one episode at a time and get to see how much of the episode I actually remember from my childhood days of watching it! πŸ’“ Will I like them as much as I remember liking them? I guess we'll have to found out one theme at a time! πŸ•‘

Phew! That was a lot of explaining! πŸ˜‚ Now that we have all of that out of the way...

You are cordially invited to attend these fake wedding ceremonies and pretend family gatherings...

Will you RSVP? πŸ’“

#10 - Scrambled Eggs (Sister, Sister ~ S2E15)

This is one of the OG series I was talking about in my disclaimer! πŸ‘† I watched this show A LOT when I was twelve and thirteen! πŸ’“ I think it's because I moved away from my "hometown" because of my parents divorce when I was eleven and found myself watching this series because it reminded me of the vibes of where I grew up! πŸ™ This episode is last because it has the most adult content in it compared to the others on this list.

PLOT: There are four storylines in this episode, two for the teenagers and two for the adults! πŸŽ₯ The first two storylines are about Tia and Tamera getting "married" in their class "Family Planning 101" and each having to take care of an egg as their baby! πŸ‘Ά Tia gets paired-up with a partner who doesn't take the assignment seriously and Tamera gets paired up with Rodger who takes it very seriously! πŸ‘«πŸ‘« For the adults, Lisa is meeting Terrence's parents for the first time and things don't go exactly how she wants them to! 😳 Ray is feeling lonely watching everyone have their own relationships and starts online dating just to find out that online dating can lead you to A LOT of crazy people! ✋

When I watched this as a pre-teen/teen, I watched it for Tia and Tamera's storylines because most of the time the adult storylines went over my head... as they should have! πŸ˜‚ The teenagers storylines for this episode were actually really funny and also sweet! πŸ’“ There were a couple of comments made by Rodger that were a bit "adultish", but they weren't that bad. πŸ‘Ά Now, for the adults storylines... they are on a different level! πŸ˜• I will admit that Lisa is a very comedic character and has so many hilarious comebacks, but for this episode, there was a lot of adult conversation about her and Terrance! Now, I want to say that I strongly believe that from this one episode of seeing his character, Terrance is toxic! πŸ˜’ He is a preacher's son who doesn't want his parents knowing exactly what goes on in his relationship and even has the audacity to ask Lisa to wear something that covers her chest because his parents are afraid of cleavage... say what?!? Gross! 😷 I would have been shoving him out my house if he said that to me! But, Lisa makes a joke and brushes it off. Terrence is a total fake who wants his parents to see him as this perfect preacher's son, but wants Lisa to do all the lying and makes her pretend to be someone she's not! πŸ™„ I know Lisa doesn't end up marrying him so that's a relief! ✋ I believe in God and Jesus and am not a supporter of toxic church culture! 😐 I wasn't that interested in Ray's storyline, but at least it showed that online dating can be full of people lying about who they are! πŸ‘

All in all, this episode did have me laughing, but the adult comments were a bit much for me and I disliked Terrence and his family a lot! πŸ‘Ž Rodger and Tamera's storyline was sweet, though! πŸ’“

Usually, I only share the clips that relate to the episode theme I've chosen, but I have to share this clip of Lisa's storyline! πŸ˜‚

The first thing they were worried about was collecting the money that flew in the air... hmmm... sounds like church! ✋

#9 - The Odd Couples (Two of a Kind S1E19)

Things that scream NOSTALGIA... anything created by Mary-Kate and Ashley! πŸ’“ Mary-Kate and Ashely shows/movies are iconic and a big part of a lot of our childhoods! πŸ“Ί I remember going to a "knock-off" Blockbuster and renting Mary-Kate and Ashley VHS tapes... Man, those were the days! Can we please go back?!? πŸ˜‚ I didn't know about this series until I was around twelve years old, but loved it as soon as I watched it! πŸ’“ This show has it's "adult" moments that completely went over my head as a kid... Again, as they should have! πŸ˜‚ So, I'm not the biggest fan of the adult storylines and honestly just watch the show for Mary-Kate and Ashley's scenes! πŸŽ₯

PLOT: Mary-Kate and Ashley get "married" for Human Development class and learn that peoples looks are not important when it comes to building a strong "marriage" of communication and understanding! πŸ‘« Kevin's brother and Carrie start going out much to Kevin's disapproval! But, how long can they pretend around Kevin they like each other when they actually can't stand each other? 😳

The Mary-Kate and Ashley storylines are funny and super nostalgic! πŸ’“ The reason this episode is ranked so low is because of the "adult" comments made during the other storyline! πŸ“Ί This episode would have ranked A LOT higher if it was just Mary-Kate and Ashley's storylines, but sadly, I had to watch the boring adult storyline as well! πŸ˜‚

Overall, this episode showed that marriage is definitely not easy, especially when it's one-sided! πŸ‘°

#8 - Model Family (Boy Meets World S1E15)

Boy Meets World is a series I got really into when I was fourteen! 🌍 Out of all the 90s shows I mention in this post, this one is the one I got into at the oldest age... if you consider fourteen old! πŸ˜‚ I'm pretty sure I've seen this episode before, but I didn't remember anything about it when watching it this time around! πŸ“Ί I was excited to watch this episode because I hadn't heard a Mr. Feeney lesson in years! πŸ‘΄

PLOT: Mr. Feeney puts together an "ideal family" of students to teach them a lesson about how TV families are very different from real-life families! πŸ“Ί The irony! πŸ˜‚ Topanga and Cory are the parents and Shawn and Minkus are the children! πŸ‘ͺ While the friends are becoming a family... Eric decides he wants to be a model and quits his job at his dad's grocery store only to find himself having to dress as a lobster! 🦞

This episode has it's comedic moments, but mostly, it has some wholesome lessons about the importance of thinking through major decisions, trusting your children to make good choices, and how important it is to grow as a family with each challenge life throws at you! πŸ’“ I have to be honest here and say that Mr. Feeney did disappoint me a little in this episode! 😒 He practically knows Minkus gets made fun of outside of the classroom and even watches Minkus pay Shawn to not get mad when he had just called him names that Minkus himself hears all the time! Mr. Feeney just stood there and watched it all happen and didn't say anything... Um... That's not being a good adult or teacher! If you see bullying happening, then you should try to stop it! ✋ Besides that, though, I think this episode had some good lessons and some funny moments! πŸ‘Œ

Overall, this episode isn't one I would particularly watch again, but at least it didn't have awkward "adult" conversations and had mature adult conversations instead! πŸ’“ Also, I like how it showed that stepping into someone else's shoes and seeing how they view things will help you learn how to have better communication with others! πŸ‘

#7 - My Boyfriend's Jackson and There's Gonna Be Trouble (Hannah Montana S1E21)

I just want to say thank you to my sister Alyssa (Back to Disney) for reminding me that this episode exists! πŸ™Œ I always forget about this episode because it's never been one of my favorites, but you'll read more about that in a minute! πŸ’“

PLOT: Miley is photographed as Hannah Montana with Jackson and rumors circulate that "Jacksannah" is Hollywood's newest couple! 😲 What will happen when Jackson is told to "break-up" with Hannah, but decides not to? 😳 Oliver is assigned a "parenting" project with Sarah and begins to fall for her, but are feelings only floating in the air because of their flour child? πŸ‘Ά

The reason I've never really liked this episode is due to the Miley and Jackson's plotline! 😳 I find it very weird how they had to pretend to date when they were actually siblings! πŸ˜• The fact that Jackson actually asked Miley to continue "dating"... 😲 Well, I made a video that explains my feelings! Let's roll the clips... 🎬

Now, what's sad is that Oliver's storyline was actually really funny, but so short! 😒 His whole storyline was less than five minutes of the entire episode! πŸ˜” If I was just basing my ranking off the storylines that include the theme of this post, then this one would be higher because it was cute and funny! πŸ’“ But, I rank these episodes based on how I feel watching each episode as a whole! πŸ“Ί Also, there wasn't really a lesson that came with Oliver's storyline! He just kind of figures out that he only liked Sarah because of their assignment and that's it. πŸ‘Ά

Overall, this episode was pretty weird! Yes, it had those classic Hannah Montana moments, but I can't get past all the cringing I did while watching most of this episode! πŸ“Ί Oliver's scenes were funny and the flour child was the cutest sack of flour I've ever seen, but the five minutes of his storyline weren't enough to rank this higher on the list! πŸ’“

I did like one scene of Miley and Jackson's storyline, though! Hannah singing "If We Were A Movie"... πŸ’“πŸŽ€

#6 - I Do, I Don't (Lizzie McGuire S1E10)

I watched Lizzie McGuire a lot when I was a kid, but I also re-watched the whole series with my sister Alyssa (Back to Disney) last year! πŸ’“ I was excited to watch this episode again, but knew it wouldn't be my favorite! Why? Well, I'll explain in a minute! πŸ‘

PLOT: Lizzie, Miranda, and Gordo are all getting married along with their classmates! Don't worry, I'm sure you know by now that it's all pretend! πŸ‘° Lizzie gets paired with Gordo. πŸ‘« Kate gets paired with Larry. πŸ‘« And, lastly, Miranda gets paired with Ethan. πŸ‘« Will each "marriage" survive or will there be conflict that breaks everyone apart? πŸ”” While everyone is off getting married, Matt is carving out his own "man-cave" in a tree and his dad joins him! But, will Matt's mom approve? 🌲

Lizzie McGuire is super nostalgic! πŸ’“ I grew-up watching this series, but never realized as a kid just how judgmental the characters could be! πŸ˜” I don't know what's up with Disney thinking that being a garbage man is a bad profession, but it's mentioned in A LOT of Disney Channel shows as a negative thing! πŸ™„ At least Gordo semi learns a lesson about the profession and begins to realize that it's not a negative thing, but he only realizes it because he finds you can make a lot of money in the profession! 😐 Also, Gordo's character annoys me a lot when he makes fun of Ethan for being "dumb" and seems to always mention that he'll work at a gas station one day... Like, seriously, Disney needs to STOP putting down jobs that people do for a living! Not everyone is a millionaire! πŸ™„ Lizzie does realize in this episode that friendship is way more important than jealousy and she learns to not take her friends for granted! πŸ’“ I said this in my cheerleading post (here) that I'm not as into Matt's storylines, but his wasn't too boring in this episode! πŸ‘Œ

All in all, this episode had a pretty good bit of judgmental comments, but it also had some good lessons about friendships and relationships! πŸ’“ It teaches you that marriage requires respect and good communication! πŸ””

#5 - Marriage 101 (The Suite Life On Deck S2E21)

I feel like I've seen this episode A LOT and I think it's because I have! πŸ˜‚ The Suite Life On Deck is another series that is very judgmental, but surprisingly, this one isn't too bad! πŸ’“ You won't see this series in my top five very often, but this episode shows off the theme of this post really well and is pretty funny! πŸ‘Œ

PLOT: Everyone couples up for an assignment on marriage to learn how tough it can actually be to be married! πŸ’ͺ Cody asks Bailey. πŸ‘« Woody asks Addison. πŸ‘« And, lastly, Zack asks London. πŸ‘« This whole episode is about each couple going through challenges that include career changes, broken bones, and kids! πŸ‘Ά Will the relationships survive? πŸ’“

What's fun and different about this episode is that each student gets to pick who they want to "propose" to! πŸ’πŸ‘° In all the previous episodes, the teachers decided for the students! Ms. Tutweiller is the MVP of this episode! She did even better teaching than Mr. Feeney when it came to the topic of marriage! πŸ‘ She is definitely an underrated character and gets made fun of too much, mostly by London! 😒 I think this episode showed the most realistic side of marriage and how it can be very tough and hard work to learn to communicate with your partner! πŸ‘« Because this episode had the marriage plot as it's one and only plot with each couples having their subplots, it gave this episode more time to be creative with the marriage assignment! I LOVED the game show idea and the "wheel of life." 🎑

Overall, this episode had some good lessons on marriage and showed that once the "honeymoon" stage is over, you're left with learning how to live life with another human being! πŸ‘« Ms. Tutweiller showed she really cared for each student in this episode and had their best interests at heart! πŸ’“

Hooray for Zack for not being ashamed of being a garbage man or a clown! Finally Disney! πŸ‘

#4 - My Way (Phil of the Future S1E7)

Something that is so interesting to me is how this series has ranked in my top five in every themed post I've done so far! πŸ’“ Granted, I've only done two themed posts this year, but it's shocked me how much I've enjoyed watching this series episodes! πŸ“Ί As a kid, I watched this series a pretty good bit, but it did scare me a little to where I didn't watch it as much as other series! However, now I'm excited for every new theme post I do because I'll get to watch another episode of this series! πŸ’“

PLOT: Pim is paired up with a student she can't stand to "marry" and raise a flour baby with! πŸ‘Ά Their parenting skills could use some work! Let's just say that they don't see eye to eye on A LOT of things! πŸ‘€ While Pim works on her "marriage", Phil tries to help Keeley overcome stage fright so she can live her dream as a singer! 🎀 Will Pim work out the conflict with her new fake hubby? And will Keeley overcome her stage fright? 😲

The storylines that aren't the theme of this post are important when it comes to this ranking because how I feel when watching the WHOLE episode and not just the parenting/marriage parts matters! πŸ‘ However, I do take a closer look at the theme I'm ranking and decide which episode handled the theme better or just made it more enjoyable to watch! πŸ“Ί What's interesting about this episode is that if I was ranking it by Phil and Keeley's scenes, then it would be even higher! But, stage-fright is not the theme of this post! 🎀 So, looking at the episode as a whole, the marriage parts were funny, but not as funny as the next episode! πŸŽ₯ The marriage scenes did teach the importance of communication and teamwork when it comes to relationships, which is great! πŸ‘Œ Phil and Keeley's scenes were my FAVORITE, especially because of the singing! 🎀 Their friendship is so so cute! πŸ’“

All in all, this series episodes have given me good vibes! πŸ’“ I felt happy watching this episode! 😊 It was super chill and relaxing to watch! πŸ“Ί So, even if the "marriage" scenes weren't that long because they were the secondary storyline, this episode as a whole was such a feel-good episode and that's why it ranks this high! πŸ’“

I have to show you Keely and Phil's storyline because it is one of the reasons this episode is ranked this high! πŸ’“ So, enjoy this because I'm sure you will! 😊

Oh, and if you're like me and thinking, "I have heard the song Keeley is singing somewhere before!" Well, it's actually a song from Aly and AJ's first album called "Protecting Me." 🎡 It's cool how she got to sing one of her own songs for this episode! πŸ’œ

#3 - Kept Man (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody S2E14)

This episode is so nostalgic to me! πŸ“Ί This used to be one of my ALL-TIME favorite episodes of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody! πŸ’“ While re-watching it, apart of me felt like I was six years old again watching it for the first time! πŸ‘§ I didn't remember the Zack and Cody scenes as much, but I practically remembered London and Maddie's scenes word for word! πŸ’“ Maddie and London's storyline might be taken out of context in 2022, but in 2006 it was supposed to be comedic and not have any hidden meanings! πŸ‘§ So, I re-watched this episode with my six year old eyes and found it to be very funny and nostalgic! πŸ’“

PLOT: Maddie and London are paired up for a parenting assignment, which leads to disagreements on how to parent! πŸ‘Ά While Maddie and London realize the difficulties in taking care of a baby, Zack becomes friends with a "rich" kid who doesn't like Cody! 😳 Will Zack stick up for his brother or decide to keep getting the perks that come with being friends with someone who is rich? πŸ’°

Again, this episode is SO flippin' nostalgic! πŸ’“ I think the reason I loved this episode so much as a kid is because at the age of six I still played with baby dolls! So, seeing Maddie and London take care of one in a comedic way made me laugh a lot as a kid! πŸ‘Ά I also love any episode that has most of the High School Musical cast all in one episode! πŸ‘Œ It's funny how serious Maddie and London take the assignment and that's what makes it so comedic! πŸ‘Ά Zack and Cody's storyline had a good lesson about sticking up for your family when someone is making fun of them! There's nothing like family loyalty! πŸ’“

Overall, this episode is definitely comedic, but it also has good lessons about communication, loyalty, and teamwork! πŸ’“

#2 - Wedding Bells & Wacky Birds (Austin & Ally S4E7)

My sisters and I binge-watched Austin & Ally a couple years ago and that was my first time ever watching season four! πŸ“Ί I LOVE how this is just a feel-good episode with no judgmental comments! πŸ’“ If you ship Austin and Ally, then this episode is for you! πŸ‘° I'll get into more about my opinion about this episode in a bit, but this episode is comedic and cute! πŸ’“

PLOT: Austin and Ally get "engaged" for Life Skills class and plan their perfect wedding, but things might not be as perfect as they seem when Austin is left alone to plan everything by himself! πŸ‘¦ Dez is still upset about his break-up with Carrie and thinks he won't be able to get through a directing job when he finds out that she's the actress he'll be directing! πŸŽ₯ Will Austin and Ally make it to the altar? Will Dez and Carrie get back together? πŸ’“

This episode is really sweet and cute, but also super funny! πŸ’“ I LOVE that Austin and Ally actually got dressed up for their fake wedding! So adorable! 😊 The whole "Emu" bird commercial storyline that involved Trish, Dez, and Carrie was random and hilarious! πŸ˜‚ It was funny to watch Dez get jealous of the guy Carrie was acting with and it turns out that he misunderstood everything and Carrie didn't break-up with him! So, yes. They do get back together! πŸ‘ I loved all the wedding planning in this episode, even if it was for a fake wedding! 🎊 I wanted to be a wedding planner when I was a kid, so this episode was a lot of fun to watch! πŸ’“ My only pet-peeve is why does Disney think every single female teacher needs to be bitter against their past relationships and seem miserable? πŸ™„ That's the only thing I didn't like in this episode! Everything else was sweet and funny! πŸ‘Œ

All in all, this episode was very sweet and comedic! πŸ’“ It had good lessons on communication and learning how to prioritize your relationships with your work schedule! πŸ‘ I do wish Austin or Ally would have had a song in this episode, but hey, it's still a super cute episode! πŸ’“

One question... where can I get that perfume? πŸ˜‚

#1 - The Mamas and The Papas (Saved By The Bell S1E12)

I haven't seen this series in so many years and man, the NOSTALGIA this show brings me! πŸ’“ This used to be one of my FAVORITE episodes when I was a kid and it's also the episode that immediately came to mind when I thought about the theme for this post! πŸ“Ί Now, I want to say that I haven't re-watched this series, yet! So, I only know the comments spoken in this episode, not in the others! I'll eventually get to those episodes for other themes I plan on doing! πŸ’“ I also haven't and won't be watching the reboot for this series... I am an OG/nostalgia girl that sticks with warm-fuzzy feelings that come with memories that I don't want ruined by a reboot I might not like! πŸ˜€

PLOT: Everyone is getting married and they can't be more thrilled! Ha! Joking! Lisa is appalled she has to even pretend to marry Screech! 😐 Slater and Jessie have completely different views of the roles a wife and husband have in a marriage! 😳 Zack is ecstatic that he gets to marry Kelly, hoping the assignment will bring them closer! πŸ‘« And Mr. Belding is the one giving them married life scenarios that shake up the assignment! πŸ“

One thing that's interesting about Saved By The Bell is that the teenagers practically run the show! πŸ“Ί In most 90s shows, there are adults that teach the kids lessons and also get their own screen-time! However, for this series, the teenagers are the WHOLE series! πŸ’“ There aren't any adult scenes without the teenagers being in the same scenes with them! πŸŽ₯ This series is the most OG 90s series that I watched at the earliest age compared to the others! πŸ’“ Now that I'm older, I realize just how right Jessie's character was about women empowerment! πŸ’ͺ I also realize just how right she was to call Slater's character a pig! 🐷 Now, I don't hate Slater's character because I know deep down he cares for Jessie and he just says a bunch of comments to get on her nerves! I don't support his ignorant comments, but I don't think he even agrees with what he's saying half the time! That's my perspective anyway, but it might change when I re-watch more of the episodes! πŸ“Ί For Lisa and Screech, I think their dynamic is interesting because I truly think Lisa likes having Screech as a friend, but isn't romantically interested in him at all! Screech should honestly just move on and respect boundaries! ✋ Zack is actually sweet to Kelly in this episode and yes, in most of the clips he talks about kissing her, but if you watch the whole episode, he actually is interested in her views on marriage! πŸ‘° This episode unpacks A LOT of topics and that's why it's my number-one choice! πŸ’“ It brings up a lot of topics that need to be talked about when it comes to relationships! Setting boundaries, learning to respect each other, communication, having kids, being a stay-at-home parent, even divorce is a topic! πŸ“ I love how there isn't a happy ending with each couple and how it shows that not everyone stays together! πŸ’”

All in all, I'm sure I'll think of even more things I can say about this episode when I watch the clips, but I love this episode because of all the memories I have of watching it! πŸ’“ The characters don't get along all the time and are flawed, but they remain friends and apologize to each other when things go wrong! That's important! πŸ’“ Friendship is the biggest element of this series and it's important to treat the people you care about right! πŸ‘

πŸ’“πŸ‘°πŸ’“πŸ‘°πŸ’“πŸ‘°πŸ’“

There was a running theme throughout ALL of these episodes... communication! πŸ’“ For my cheerleading themed post, I was reminded of how much being cheerful is instinctive in human nature and how happy it can make you to just chant a random cheer! πŸ“£ For this post, I've realized that communication is key in any relationship and being present in your relationships is so important! πŸ’“

I didn't know how this theme idea was going to turn out, but I had A LOT of fun watching these episodes and creating this post! πŸŽ‰ I'm not huge on the whole marriage idea, but that might be the divorce kid in me talking! πŸ˜‚ No, but seriously, marriage isn't my thing! But, that's why these episodes were so much fun to watch because it was all pretend and all the characters used their imaginations when it came to their fake marriages and pretend families! πŸ’“

That's another great theme in these episodes... imagination! πŸ’“ It's fun imagining what it would be like to be a parent, or even married if you're into that, but an important lesson in all of these episodes was how imagination can take away from the reality of actually being married and being a parent! πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘ͺ Like Lizzie, Miranda, and Gordo said, "We're too young to even pretend we're married." Yes. A good lesson for all kids and even me... even though I'm twenty-three! πŸ˜‚

What do you think was the most important lesson with the theme of marriage and having kids? And what was your favorite episode out of these ten? πŸ“Ί

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post! πŸ’“

Until next time...

Don't forget to celebrate each day because each day is a memory in the making. πŸ’“

Oh, and don't forget to live in the moment and not live for the future of one day being married! Trust me, single life is THE life! Don't rush things! πŸ’“ We're all still too young! Forever young! πŸ’ž
