πΊ Ranking Nostalgic Series Scene Transitions ~ Disney Channel & More π
Let's celebrate this week by celebrating the fact that this is my first August post of the year! πππ
You have no idea how EXCITED I am that it's officially August! π Even though August still feels very much like summer, I like to pretend it's the start of fall! π
For my first August post, I came up with this "transitions" idea when watching a tv series with my sisters and realizing that it had so many cute scene transitions that perfectly went with that series! π It struck me that it would be cool to take a closer look at something that is vital to a TV series, but that no one ever really talks about! ✨
Scene transitions don't seem like that big of a deal, but they actually have a vital role in how smoothly the scenes change during an episode! πΊ The BEST part is that some series have such creative scene transitions that are just as fun to watch as the actual scenes themselves! π
Today, we're taking a look at FOURTEEN nostalgic series transitions! π Some series just have scene "fadeouts" and don't have distinct transitions, but these fourteen are creative and fun and I can't wait to share them with you! π
So, what are we waiting for?!? π Let the transitions begin with my very own blog transition! π
We can't begin a post without a GIF! πΊ

(from least to most favorite)
#14 - JONAS/JONAS L.A.
It would have taken FOREVER to go through EVERY episode for all of these series to get EVERY scene transition! πΊ So, I went through about five to ten episodes out of each season for each series and got ALL the different transitions I found within those! π
This series transitions are actually really creative for the show, but they can get very repetitive! π’ Most of the transitions are either short "port window" transitions or closer looks at the ship in the water! π Again, they are super creative for the series, but once you see the same transitions a hundred times per season, it can get a little too repetitive! πΊ I do think they did a GREAT job at the digitally edited boat and I LOVE seeing the ocean! π These are fun transitions, but there aren't as many different ones to see! π Some of my favorites are the nighttime boat transitions! π’
I actually really like this series transitions and think they're perfect for the show! π They show the set buildings and Hollywood, which is what the plot of the series is all about! πΊ The music is catchy and the transitions aren't too long! π΅ My favorite ones are the ones that show the palm trees! π΄ Also, it's fun how the "So Random" posters change in different transitions! I love the green one! π
#11 - Bizaardvark
These transitions would have ranked higher if they would have kept the first season's transitions throughout the whole series! π The first season's transitions of the characters having fun in front of the huge computer prop are my favorites and perfect for the series! πΊ You knew who was about to be in the next scene based on who showed up in the transition! Season two took out all the fun transitions and kept just the ones of the buildings/places in the series! π I liked the summer vibes from season three's transitions because they were bright ocean scenes! π Season one's are still my favorites, though! π
These transitions are classic and super nostalgic! π It's SO creative how they have the elevator doors open up to a scene... BRILLIANT! π These would be higher, but I never saw how edited the actual hotel looks and looking at the outside of the hotel can get a bit repetitive! πΊ Now, they started to get more creative with some of the transitions, but they didn't stick with those! So, they're just scattered here and there throughout the series! π₯ Again, my FAVORITE transitions are the elevator doors opening! π
If this ranking was based off the transition music alone, then this series would be in my top three! π I LOVE the GMW theme song and I LOVE when the transition music is the "oh oh ohs" from the song! π΅ That's honestly why this has ranked in my top ten is because of the music! Honestly, these aren't the most creative transitions because they mainly just show the buildings/places in the series! π However, I do love that they include the girls throwing the paper airplane in some of the transitions! π The music is the best part of these transitions! ♪
#8 - Austin & Ally
These transitions are fun because there are a lot of different ones and some include ones with the characters and I LOVE those types of transitions! π Now, based on transition music, GMW would be above Austin & Ally, but these transitions are more creative! πΊ Especially, the season three transitions when Austin is on tour and it shows his tour bus! The episode in season four where Austin was learning Spanish had some Latin vibes for the transitions and I LOVED that! π Also, it's fun seeing the music store change to the "A&A Music Factory" in season four! ♪
Of course Shake It Up is on this list because it's just the BEST, but you're probably wondering why it hasn't made the top five for this ranking when it usually is ALWAYS way higher than this! π Well, I LOVE the SIU transitions, but they're not the most creative, but they still go perfectly with the series! They're simple, but GREAT! Sometimes simple is better! π I love the city landscape, especially the trains! The transitions are meant to give you a sense that these locations are real and when you see the Chicago landscape, then you feel that this series was really filmed in Chicago! π My favorite transitions are the train ones and the nighttime Shake It Up Chicago ones! π
Violetta's character always had her purple journal and was sketching and writing down her thoughts! So, the fact that some of those sketches are used in the transitions is super cute and creative! π These transitions almost beat out the next ones! However, one of the main reasons I LOVE these transitions is because of the transitions used in the episodes where they'd travel to countries, like Spain! π But, those transitions weren't in every episode and so going by the transitions mainly used, this series doesn't quite make the top five! πΊ I LOVE the journal and travel transitions, but the other ones can get a bit repetitive and the journal only shows two main sketches! I wish they would have had a few different sketches shown in each transition! π I still love how chill and calm these transitions are though! π Like I said before, sometimes simple is better!
Soy Luna has some fun and bright transitions that go perfectly with the series! π I LOVE how Luna's moon and sun necklace is the main element in most of the transitions and how they represent if a scene is about to be a daytime or nighttime scene with the yellow and blue backgrounds! ππ These can sometimes get repetitive, but they're so bright and fun and also pretty quick transitions, so them being repetitive isn't too bad! π I LOVE the Mexico transitions, but those aren't shown a lot throughout the series, since it's set in Argentina! π My favorite transitions, besides the Mexico ones, are the season three sun and moon ones (the GIF above)! π
These are super fun to watch! π I've always loved these transitions because it just seems like they had so much fun filming them! π₯ My favorite one is the one above with the whole family, but sadly it was only used once out of all the episodes I went through! π’ It's funny because as the seasons go on, the cast gets sillier and sillier with the transitions and you can tell they're looking at themselves in the green screen monitor! π These are A LOT of fun and definitely some of my favorites, but the ones that just show scenes of the city aren't my favorite and that's the only reason these are not in my top three! π My favorite is the family one, but also any Max transitions are so random and funny! π
This is the definition of "simple is better"! π I LOVE how nostalgic and peaceful these transitions are! π I watch this series EVERY fall and cannot wait to watch it in a couple of months! π These transitions are very simple and have the classics Saddle Club music that is a WHOLE peaceful vibe, but some of them just have the sound of horses hoofs and I LOVE that! π These are super simple, but so perfect for the series! π΄ My favorite ones are the ones that show the Pine Hollow signs as people ride their horses past them (the GIF above)! π
I know that you know that I knew that you knew that I knew that this was going to be number two! π No, maybe you didn't know it was going to be number two, but it rhymed with the word "knew"! π However, I'm sure you did know that this series would rank high because we ALL know Hannah Montana transitions! π This is why GMW should have kept the "oh oh ohs" throughout the whole series because HM was iconic with the "ohs" and the "las" for the transitions! π These transitions are classic and super nostalgic! Yes, I said I wasn't ranking these based on music alone, but there are actually some HM transitions that don't have Miley singing and are just of the beach and the house! π But, Miley's singing is different than just regular transition music, it IS the transition! π I also love the bright swirls that they do with most of the transitions! 𧑠These are just classic and nostalgic and I am so curious as to what your favorite transition sound is! π΅ I will share a few of my favorites after the full video, but I will say that I didn't remember Hannah Montana Forever transitions and I actually like them a lot because they're different and fresh! π
You remember the series I was talking about in the intro that I was watching with my sisters and the one that inspired this WHOLE post? Well, this is it! π This is one of my ALL TIME favorite series, but I never paid too close attention to one of the BEST things about this series... the transitions! π When rewatching it this time around, I realized that the water transitions are so creative and cool! π¦ I also LOVE the houses/trailer transitions, as well as the cafΓ© and Mako Island! π My FAVORITE water transitions are the bubbles and the waves! π I love how many transitions there are and even the nostalgic music makes the transitions even better, but sometimes there isn't any music and I LOVE that too! π I just LOVE them all! π
