Let's celebrate this week by celebrating the fact that after over two years of requesting it... Disney+ has finally released Alex & Co. with English subtitles! πππ WOOHOO!!!! ππ
It couldn't have came at a more perfect time! π It was released on April 13th and I had the next week after that off of work! So, of course, I binged the WHOLE entire series and the movie (which isn't on Disney+ yet) and even found the special episodes on YouTube that were the four-part episode finale of the series! π So, basically, Alex & Co. was my life for an entire week and I regret nothing! πΆ
I've talked a little about this series on my blog before, but for those who haven't read those posts, then you wouldn't know how special this series is to me! π It was the VERY first international Disney Channel series I randomly stumbled upon and fell in love with! π If it wasn't for this series, I wouldn't have found other international series and the passion for learning other languages and listening to international music wouldn't have been such a prominent part of my life like it has been since I found Alex & Co. at the age of seventeen! ππΆ
One of the main elements in Alex & Co. is the music! πΆ This is an Italian based series, but most of the songs are sung in English! π€ Only one song in the entire series is sung in full Italian, while another song is sung with half-Italian/half-English lyrics! π There are fourteen songs total, including the songs from the movie! I am choosing to exclude the song "Live It Up" that is from the special episodes because it wasn't sung by a main/recurring character from the series. Instead, it was sung by a guest star! πΆ
The music in the series correlates with the friendships and relationships in the show! π I LOVE how this series shows the connection between music and friendship! πΆ When you listen to a duet from the series it's super cute and sweet, but when you listen to the whole group singing together, it's even more amazing! π Alex & Co. is not Alex & Co. without the inspirational messages of friendship, anything being possible, dreaming, not feeling alone, and so many more amazing messages! I can't wait for you to hear all of these songs! π
But...
Before we officially begin the ranking...
Let's get to know the singers of the Alex & Co. series first! π
ππΆππΆππΆπ
First off, we have the original band/group of the series who were originally named "Sound Aloud", but changed to Alex & Co. in season two! π
Then, we have the girl group who were the "mean girls" in the series and the group is actually named after the leader of the group, Linda! πΆ Here are The Lindas...
Now, Rebecca had a lot of character development and realized she didn't want to be apart of The Lindas anymore... that's when her younger sister joined the group in her place! π³
Now, sadly, Alex & Co. did eventually go their separate ways. π’ Sam and Christian's characters actually left the show in the middle of season three, which made room for two new guys! π They didn't take Sam and Christian's places, though, because no one can take their places in the band! Ray is actually a freestyle rapper and Matt is awesome at playing the piano and singing! π
Now, there was another new character that appeared in season three, but this new character is actually an OG character! π Confused? Well, Alex was sick of feeling like he wasn't free to create the music he wanted when signed to a record label! πΆ So, he created...
Now, the
Alex & Co. movie is a whole different ball game! πΆ The original five are all back together, but there is a sixth person to join the group! π In my opinion, this next character who was only in the movie should have been one of the "new boys" in season three because he was such a great character and belonged to be in the series! π But, the actor who played this character was an actual musician in real life and didn't start acting until the
Alex & Co. movie. So, maybe he didn't want to act in the series! Who knows? π He was amazing, though!

ππΆππΆππΆπ
So, those are ALL of the characters you'll be seeing in all of these amazing upcoming clips! π
I have one more small thing to explain, though! ππ
A lot of the songs during season two were performed during the characters time on the singing competition show called "The Talent", which Alex & Co. and The Lindas were both apart of! π So, when you see those clips and wonder what "The Talent" is, it is the fictional singing competition show that was made for the series! π€
Oh, and one more thing, Alex & Co. songs have really poetic and strong lyrics that I feel speak for themselves in a sense! π So, I've created lyrics posters that I'll be adding to this ranking because I feel once you read the lyrics of each song you will be able to understand the messages of the songs more clearly! πΆ It will also save me from spending a lot of time quoting all of the lyrics because it's hard not to want to share every line when each one is so poetic! π
Okay! Now that you know the characters and have read all of my disclaimers, let's get into the ranking! Are you ready? I know! I've been ready too! π So, let's do this thing! πΆ
ππΆππΆππΆπ
(from least to most favorite)
*This is a songs ranking and not a scenes ranking. I am solely ranking the songs themselves, but you will still get to watch all of the fun clips the songs go with! Not every clip of these songs are shown because I'm saving some for a different post, but I hope you enjoy the ones I did add! π
#14 - Oh My Gloss! (The Lindas)
I never doubted that this song was going to be last on this list. π¬ It's really the only song from this series that I'm not a fan! π It's the only song of the series that doesn't share a positive message! It's all about superficial things and telling a girl that she needs to change her appearance because she has "no color" and "no flavor"... yikes! π¬ This song is a representation of how toxic Linda's mindset really is and that's the only reason this song is so negative is because it's written for a negative character! π So to get this song out of the way... because I don't want you to think this is how all of the
Alex & Co. songs will be (trust me this is the only one that isn't very good)... Let's go ahead and watch
The Lindas perform this song on "The Talent". π And, yes. The beat and phrase "Oh My Gloss!" might get stuck in your head, but don't worry all of the other songs will have you singing a different tune in no time! π
Sam and Rebecca ended up splitting up due to a long distance relationship during the second half of season three. π’ So, Rebecca actually starts dating the new guy Matt! π Here is a clip of Matt and Rebecca singing "Oh My Gloss!"... β
(Audio)
#13 - Truth or Dare (Alex & Co.)
This is a very cute song that uses the game "Truth or Dare" as a metaphor of how falling in love can be like! π It's all about telling the truth of how your heart feels and daring yourself to be brave enough to share it! π ALL of these upcoming songs are so good that it was hard to decide which one would rank second to last, but one had to fall in this spot! So, the deciding factor was the bridge! πΆ Whenever I'm having a hard time ranking a song, I always listen to the bridge because the bridges of songs are some of my FAVORITE parts! π The bridge of this song is very short and in my opinion, doesn't match with the rest of the song! See what you think when listening to it yourself... β
In season three, Ray and Matt perform a different version of this song... πβ
(Audio)
#12 - I Am Nobody (Nobody aka Alex)
I remember loving this song when I first watched season three and thinking Nobody (Alex) was so cool! Lol. π He's still cool. π The storyline of Alex creating Nobody is actually really well written and it's not just a "Hannah Montana" spin-off idea! π I'm not going to go in-depth about the plotline of Nobody because that will be in a separate post when I chat about my thoughts on this awesome series! For now, I will just talk about the song! πΆ The beat of this song is super catchy and I love the mysterious nature of it! Alex named his alias Nobody because he was basically told he was a nobody by the record label! So, he turned that into saying, "Okay. I'll be nobody, but I'll be a nobody who will speak what I want when I want and how I want!" π Preach! π
No face. No name. He can be anybody. Tonight... he's gonna be nobody. π

#11 - So Far Yet So Close (Emma & Ray)
If you remember my post where I ranked love songs from Disney Channel series (here), then you know that this song was ranked number two in my part two of that love songs post! π Honestly, I explained this song perfectly in that post! So, let me quote myself...
[This song is about going back and forth, wondering if the two of you are right for each other because you seem so far, yet so close! ππ It's about being opposites, but still being attracted to each other! π I love how they use planets circling the sun as a metaphor for their relationship! It matches the theme of being so far, yet so close perfectly! π]
I could not stop playing this song when creating that post and I still love it! π One thing I never noticed is that when they perform the song on stage for the first time they have their own side all decorated to match their personalities and then, the bench that is in the middle of both sides is split down the middle and decorated with both designs! Super unique and cute! π
This is Ray's first song in the series and he gets to show off his rapping skills and Emma gets to add a unique dynamic to her first single as a solo artist! πΆ
Now, I can't not share the edit of this song that I created for my love songs post! π It was the first edit I ever made of a just a single ship from a tv series! Ahhhh, let's watch it again, shall we?!? Action! π¬

#10 - Likewise (Sam & Rebecca)
Since there are only fourteen
Alex & Co. songs, thirteen if you don't count
The Lindas song, there isn't a lot of room within the thirteen to have a ton of duets, especially since
Alex & Co. is a band/group! π However, every couple in the show actually had a duet, except for Emma and Christian and Alex and Clio because Clio wasn't a singer! π We should have had an Emma and Christian duet, but we'll talk about that another time because Sam and Rebecca did get a duet and it's very catchy and fun! π This song describes their relationship so well because their relationship was kept a secret for a while because they were in two rival friend groups and they thought their relationship wouldn't be accepted! π So, this song is perfect because it's all about saying that opposites do attract and that people are wrong when they say that opposite people won't work! πΆ I love when they sing, "We will sing the differences away," because music is one of the things that brought them together and Sam is the one who encouraged Rebecca to continue singing what she wanted and not only what Linda wanted her to sing! π Overall, it's a very cute song and matches the characters perfectly! π
(Audio)
#9 - Music Speaks (Alex & Co.)
If you've ever seen Alex & Co. even once, then you know this song because it's the theme song! π This is the Alex & Co. song and was their very FIRST one ever on the series! πΆ Just that alone makes it special! π I love that this song is all about letting music speak when nothing else can get your thoughts across! How many times in our lives have we listened to a song and thought the lyrics were taken right out of our own minds? So many times! π I love the line, "We let the music take us to the places we dream of." π There are sooooo many quotable lyrics in this song! The whole thing is just amazing! π
(Audio)
#8 - All The While (Alex & Nicole)
This was the very first duet of the series and it's perfect! π Alex and Nicole were best friends, then Nicole started to have feelings for Alex and that's why in the song when she sings "You were blind cause' you're a friend of mine," she's basically telling him that he's not seeing that she has feelings for him because they're best friends! π This song is super special because if it wasn't for this song showing up during my random YouTube scrolling, then I would have never found this incredible series and all the other international series I found because of it! π The scene I'm about to show you was the first thing I
EVER watched of the series and I couldn't stop playing it because even though I didn't know who the characters were yet, I felt a connection to the song! π Is it cheesy? Yes. Does that make it even more cute? Yes. π
Wasn't that the cutest?!? ππ This song played quite a few times during the series and was special to Alex and Nicole because it was basically their song! π Here is a breakdown of the clips you're about to see that are even cuter than the previous clip...
π 1 - The first clip is of Alex creating his own galaxy within the English classroom! Basically, during a group assignment, Alex let the group down because he cheated on his part of the assignment due to being focused on creating a song for the next round of "The Talent". π¬ He causes the rest of the group to fail the assignment because of him cheating and so, he decides to create the solar system in the classroom to see if he can make up for his mistake! You'll see what happens next...
π 2 - The second clip is Alex apologizing to Nicole after they had broken up and what better way to apologize than to use the song that was theirs to convey his feelings!
π 3 - The last clip is my personal favorite! There is a whole backstory of why it's one of my favorite scenes, but I'll talk about that in another post! For now, I'll give a quick summary! β Basically, Nicole started feeling trapped in her friendship/relationship with Alex because she was always following him as he followed his dreams and she didn't know what her own dreams were! In the specific scene you're about to see, she points to a red balloon in the tree and says she feels trapped just like that red balloon! They have a sweet conversation and then Alex does something super sweet next... π
#7 - The Magic of Love (Alex)
When it comes to love songs from tv series/movies, I usually rank duets higher! But, this one is so good that it does in fact rank higher than All The While! π I love the fictional story of how this song was written! Nicole wrote most of it and Alex didn't know that when he worked on finishing the rest of it! π He put two and two together during his first performance of the song and realized Nicole wrote it about them! But, the sweet thing about it is that Nicole found her passion that she needed to find by leaving Alex, but in the end, the passion she found (songwriting) brought her back to him! π My heart! π I love how this song is sung in half-Italian because it sounds so poetic! π Oh, and I love the "dum-dum-du-dums." π
(Audio)
#6 - We Are One (Alex & Co.)
The chorus of this song is genius! π I mean they spell out the word "Friends" and say that's the way they spell success.... I literally think that lyric is so beyond genius! π€―π There is something special when you listen to an
Alex & Co. song that has the full group all together! In the series, sometimes the characters are doing their own thing, but when they come together and perform it's like they belong together forever! π This song is the finale song of season two and the final song they perform on "The Talent." πΆ It's a sweet song all about friendship! But...
Their friendship did have it's low moments! π The next clip you'll see is when they were working with Carola, a character who helped the contestants with their song arrangements for "The Talent," and in this clip you'll see one of the low moments for the band! It's a powerful clip because of the way the song is sung and how much tension there is between everyone, but you have to see the low so that the high will feel more powerful! π
The low...
The high...
Isn't this a sweet song? I knew you'd think so! Alex & Co. together forever! π
(Audio)
#5 - Unbelievable/Incredibile (Alex & Co./Alex & Emma)
This song has two different versions! An English version and a full Italian version! π When translating songs, sometimes the lyrics can't be the exact same because some words don't add up to the same meaning/don't exist in another language! πΆ So, the Italian version of Unbelievable has completely new verses than the English version, but the chorus is the same! π I love both meanings of each song and my
FAVORITE parts of each song is the chorus when they sing, "Sometimes you just believe you're all alone, but then somebody feels the same way you feel, it's unbelievable," it's so sweet! π The Italian version of this song was never sung on the show, but they did create a music video that included all of the
Alex & Co. band members, except for Sam! Also, the Italian version is sung only by Alex & Emma, but the English version is sung by the whole group! πΆ
I love both versions so much that it's hard to choose which one I like better! π But... I think I have my final decision and I'll let you know which is my favorite after you watch these "unbelievable" π song clips! π
(Unbelievable)
(Incredibile)Which one was your favorite out of the two? π It's so hard to choose because I love when the whole band sings together, but my favorite has to be the Italian version because that's the first song they ever sung in Italian! ππΆ
(Unbelievable Audio)
(Incredibile Audio)
#4 - The Universe Owes You One (Alex/Alex & Bakia)
I want to start off by saying that usually when "the universe" is mentioned in a way that almost replaces God, then I'm not a fan of it. However, I view this song differently. π I love when song lyrics go deep to where you just sit and think about what they mean to you. This song is all about "the universe" owing you one because of a good deed you've done. πWhen deeply thinking about what this song means to me, it reminded me of the phrase, "You reap what you sow," which brought me to these bible verses...
It's cool because the song above, "Unbelievable," uses the exact phrase, "You reap what you sow," which ties into this song perfectly! π So, when I listen to this song, I think about how doing good deeds and being generous with our time, kindness, helpfulness, etc., will in return allow us to reap the same things! π
Another super cool thing about this song is how they included lyrics from other Alex & Co. songs! π It's especially special because this is the series finale song... the last Alex & Co. song to ever be performed during the series! π So, the fact that they incorporated lyrics from Music Speaks, We Are One, All The While, and Alex & Nicole's phrase "Together Forever" that they've worn on bracelets ever since they were kids... it's all just so perfect for the very last song of the series! π This song is super emotional and full of hope and that's why it ranks so high on this list! π
Now, when it comes to the clips, there is a little bit of explaining I have to share with each! π
A little backstory of how this song was written fictional wise is that Nicole really looked up to a singer named Bakia! Nicole's dream was to have Bakia sing a song Nicole wrote herself and that song is one that was inspired by a phrase Alex told her, "The universe owes you one." π The same night Alex said that phrase, Nicole ended up falling and went into a coma. π’ Alex wanted to find someway to not feel so useless while he was just waiting on Nicole to wake up. So, he helped make her dream come true and found a way for Bakia to sing Nicole's song! πΆ
Long story short, Alex performs as a guest/previous contestant of "The Talent" and it turns out that Bakia is a special guest as well and is going to perform! π I'm sure you can figure out the rest from there! πΆ
The first clip is one that doesn't include this song, but one I thought was important to watch to make seeing the performances of this song more meaningful! π
So, here is Alex's conversation with Nicole... πβ
The second clip is of Alex trying to create the rest of the lyrics to Nicole's song because he found it unfinished in her notebook! Then, you'll get to see his first performance of the song! π
Now, this next clip isn't of Alex, but I had to include it because of how random it is! π All I'm going to say is Ray... just Ray! π
This next clip is the finale performance of the series and when Alex got to sing with Bakia! πΆ As he sang, the performance played on the TV in Nicole's room and you'll see what happens during and after the performance... π
There is a cute montage that the Disney Channel Italy YouTube channel put together with scenes from the special finale episodes of the series to go along with this sweet song! π
Overall, this was a very sweet finale song that held a lot of special meanings to the characters! π I still would have loved for Emma to have had a finale song because she too ventured out to be a solo artist during season three, but this was a cute wrap-up for Alex and Nicole's storyline! ππΆ
(Audio)
#3 - The Strawberry Place (Alex & Co.)
This is a song from the
Alex & Co. movie, "Come Diventare Grandi Nonostante I Genitori," which means "How to Grow Up Despite Your Parents." π It's interesting because when I first heard this song in the movie I didn't immediately love it, but thought it was still good! However, it's one of my favorites now! π It's one-hundred percent one of my go-to feel good songs now! It's perfect for summertime and just has a chill vibe to it! π I love the hopeful message about the future being now and starting new when you're in the midst of a hard time. π
It's cute how the lyrics from the previous song I mentioned sort of gave reference to lyrics in this song! This song says, "Don't look behind, the rainbow's inside of you," and in The Universe Owes You One he sings...
The drops of the ceasing rain
They fall slow
And as the drops start to wane
They borrow a sunray
Your sorrows
Are color painted all the way
And you grow a rainbow in you
How poetic! π I love the rainbow metaphor that started with this song because it's nice to imagine the pain we feel turning into rainbows inside of us! ππ
This is the first song Davide performed with the rest of the group and again, he should have stayed in the group! He added a lot to the storylines and his piano skills in-real-life and in the movie are insane! π Overall, this is a super sweet π and fun summer song! π
(Audio)
#2 - I Can See The Stars (Alex & Co.)
This is the final song in the movie and one that is super emotional when you hear the backstory of the fictional making of this song! π
Quick Backstory: The opening of the movie starts off with an English speaking character who was not apart of the Alex & Co. series before! His name is Patt. π During the movie, he makes appearances with vlog-type videos made in his room, which include him giving life advice that has to do with parents and growing up, which is the main topic of the movie. π You think you're just watching fun/random clips that are breaks from the main casts' scenes, but you're actually watching a character who plays a much deeper role in the movie than you think! π Long story short, Patt is the brother of Sam's love interest in the movie and is also the son of the music producer Alex & Co. are trying to work with for a competition they've entered. It's mentioned that this brother/son of these characters passed away, but it's not until Sam has to use some of the son's clothes because his get drenched that they discover a flash drive in the pocket of some shorts and on this flash drive are the clips that we've seen during the movie. Patt is the son/brother who passed away and he was the one making the vlog-type videos that were actually never seen by anyone before, which is the opposite of what you think while watching the majority of the movie. π’ The file they play is of Patt recording a special song. This song. It remains incomplete, though, until Alex & Co. ask to complete it in honor of Patt and sing it in the final round of the competition! π
It was a huge plot twist and one that is still super shocking, but the backstory makes this song even more special! π I love anything to do with stars and this song is no exception! β My favorite line of this sweet song is, "I'll sing a song to find my bravery inside." π
Here is a fun behind the scenes look of some of the cast talking about the music from the movie and I added English subtitles myself, which I'm proud of and hope are correct because translating is quite difficult sometimes! π

Ready for my number-one choice?!? π
Drum roll please... π₯π₯π₯
#1 - Welcome To Your Show (Alex & Co.)
This is a bittersweet song because it's the last song EVER that the band performed all together for the series! π This song has always hit with me and I loved it so much the first time I heard it that I even made a video of myself singing it and put it on... YouTube... Lol. π In the fictional world, this song was written by Nicole when she first figured out that songwriting was a passion of hers! She used this song to get Emma to want to sing again for the first time since having to have vocal chord surgery. π¬ The first time this song is mentioned in the series is one of my favorite scenes from the series along with the clips that follow it! Let's check them out... π
This song brought the whole group back together again! π The original five were back and better than ever... until sadly, Christian and Sam left. π’ But, we got one more epic performance with all five together on stage one last time! So, let's grab some tissues and watch Alex & Co.'s last performance! π
Now, if you're like me and thinking, "Nooooo! It can't be over!" π’, then I have a surprise video that has two more clips featuring this song just for you... Okay, it's for me too! ππ
π First Clip: The video Alex & Co. entered into the singing competition in the movie!
π Second Clip: A throwback to when doing the mannequin challenge was all the rage! See if you can spot anyone who moves! π I spotted at least two movements! π

I can't believe this post is over! π’ I've been taking some time out of each day of this week to work on this post and now that it's over it feels kind of bittersweet! π
This is the first post where I got to talk about the first international series I ever watched and one of my all-time FAVORITE Disney Channel series! π It won't be my last time, though! I still have plenty of more content to share of this series and I can't wait to get to talk about all of these amazing characters and storylines again! π
But...
There are still more fun series, movies, and songs to share about and I can't wait to do it all again next week! π
I've had a blast sharing all of these songs with you! If you want, let me know which song out of the fourteen is your favorite! ππΆ
Until next time...
Don't forget to celebrate each day because each day is a memory in the making! π
