šŸ’“ My Top Ten Nostaglic School Dance Episodes (Disney & More) šŸ’ƒ

Let’s celebrate this week by ranking nostalgic tv show school dance episodes! I love themed episodes! Holidays, dances, slumber parties, birthdays… I love them all!!

I had twenty-five episodes to choose from to create my top-ten list and let me tell you, it was difficult to choose! But, I did it and can’t wait to share my list! So, what are we waiting for? Oh, yeah. We have to go over this quick note first!

Quick Note: The twenty-five episodes I chose from are all from some of my favorite nostalgic tv shows. I am sharing my love for the show and character storylines not the actor/actresses themselves in real life. I am not big on ā€œcelebrityā€ news and gossip. So, I’m sure there are things out there that I do not support. That’s why I’m making this quick note that isn’t really that quick now that I’m typing it… so… umm… okay… this is getting awkward… let’s just start… okay… here it goes!

 šŸ’“šŸ’“šŸ’“šŸ’“šŸ’“

(least to most favorite)

#10 – Hot Mess It Up (Shake It Up – S1E14)

I loved this episode when I was younger and still do! I still randomly say the ā€œhot messā€ quote whenever I talk about Shake It Up. I thought this one was a fun one to watch and Rocky’s character sure had fun watching Cece at the dance with Gunther. It wasn’t discussed much at the end of the episode, but I think Cece learned how giving bad advice affects people. Hopefully. This one isn’t a deep/emotional episode and is just one to sit back and laugh along to. Perfect for when you’re looking for something light-hearted!

#9 – More Than A Zombie To Me (Hannah Montana – S1E15)

This is an iconic HM episode! As a kid, I loved ALL the Jake Ryan episodes! You know, before that certain Hannah Montana Forever episode that ruined everything. Looking back on it now, I do see how Jake’s character was really stuck-up, but I do still think there was something deeper on the inside. This episode teaches a really great lesson on friendship. No guy is worth coming between friends. I think Miley needed the lesson more than Lilly. I do think Miley was in the wrong most of the episode and I was glad when she admitted it and said ā€œsorryā€ and Lilly said ā€œyou should be.ā€ I think if Lilly would have brushed it off and acted like it was nothing then Miley wouldn’t have taken it as serious. The whole zombie-slayer scene where Hannah is acting on Jake’s show is the best part of the episode! I loved that scene as a kid. I totally would have dressed as ā€œzombie-Hannahā€ as a kid for trick-or-treating! Also, I did love watching the pranks between Jackson and Robbie as well. Who do you think won in the prank war?

#8 – Pop Me and We Both Go Down (Wizards of Waverly Place – S1E10)

I was surprised that this one made it onto the list! I used to love this show as a kid and even bought the board game thinking I would get a wand that looked just like Alex’s. Well, younger me was a little sad when she found the ā€œwandā€ in the box was just a round piece of purple plastic. But, there were bigger problems in the world, so I didn’t dwell on it. However, I did stop watching WOWP a while back when I stopped watching anything to do with witchcraft/wizardry. But, I started watching it again this year and realized that it isn’t like Harry Potter or other dark magic-type tv shows. It’s supposed to be light-hearted comedy. And yes, I am still not the biggest fan of ā€œspellsā€ and all of that, but I love the family dynamic and how it makes me laugh. This episode definitely made me laugh! I love the Russo kids’ bond. Justin and Alex might seem annoyed with each other half the time, but they really do love each other and it shows in how much they are there for each other when it counts. And Alex was there for Justin throughout this whole episode. Not going to lie, the running trophy man was one of the best parts of the episode! Genius! I thought the zit-guy-thing-whatever was so annoying and was happy when he disappeared, but other than that, this episode was very entertaining!

#7 – Tunnel It Up (Shake It Up – S2E19) *Ep. 20 on Disney+

Okay, okay. I know this was on my top-ten list of SIU episodes. So, you’d expect for it to be higher on this list. Honestly, I had this in my top-five, but there are other episodes from other shows that have important messages and those always seem to go higher on any list I make. However, this one is still amazing! It has one of my favorite SIU dances in it and some great funny moments! This one is also on the more light-hearted side of things, which is perfect when you just want to chill and not think too much. It’s fun seeing the characters go back and forth between two places wondering if they’re going to get to each destination on time! Do you think its possible to be in two places at once? This episode shows the importance of not giving up and trying hard to accomplish your goals.

#6 – Love Potion (H2O: Just Add Water – S1E24)

Now, if you know me, you know that I LOVE H2O! I mean, talk about nostalgia! This easily could have been my #1 on this list and was really close to it… until one thing made me lower it to below my top-five. That ā€œone thingā€ is how bad I felt for Lewis in this episode. I do think Emma, Rikki, and Cleo were too harsh on him when all he was trying to do was help. I know they had their reasonings for being upset, but I think they should have realized that he cared about them and only wanted to help make sure they never had to worry about getting wet again. I mean, that’s a big task for one person to try to figure out and he was trying. For them. So, yes. I LOVE this show. But, this episode just makes me a little sad. That’s why it didn’t make the number-one spot. It’s still a must-watch, though. And I do watch this whole series at least once a year! If you’ve seen this show, which girls’ power did you want?

#5 – A Prom Story (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody – S1E8)

This episode made my top-five for one reason… how cute were Zack & Cody in this episode?!? Let’s not lie, we all tried the walking-down-the-stairs miming trick! As well as the I’m-stuck-inside-a-box trick. Classic! Cody couldn’t shut up in this episode and it was adorable. Did I just say adorable? Okay, I’ve just hit ā€œgrandmammy statusā€ at the age of 22! Zack was also super-cute in this episode! The way he wanted to help Maddie with her prom and make it special. I mean, he literally saved the night! There was so much cuteness in this episode to last the whole season! Both of the boys showed so much heart in this episode and Zack especially showed how sweet he can be underneath his ā€œcool-boyā€ persona. How would you feel about a circus-themed prom? It worked for the vibe of this episode for sure!

#4 – A Gordo Story (Lizzie McGuire – S2E26)

There is also one reason this episode made it so high on this list and that is all thanks to one of the last scenes when Gordo and Lizzie are talking in her bedroom before the dance. Summing it up wouldn't do the scene justice, so I added it below for all of you guys to enjoy! That scene made the episode for me! It’s super sweet and emotional! Also, if I’m being honest, there is another small thing that made this episode stand out even more. Ethan Craft + Dancing = Me laugh-crying… the end.

#3 – Wizards & Vampires vs. Zombies (Wizards of Waverly Place – S2E29)

Another surprise twist I didn’t see coming! I had no idea this episode would make it onto this list, especially in my top-three!! But when I watched it, I loved the whole vibe of it! It had me laughing throughout the whole thing. Alex planning the anti-prom was such a mood. And Justin serenading Juliet and asking her to ā€œgo steadyā€ was sweet and hilarious. Can we get Justin’s song on Spotify please? The banter/dialogue in this episode was spot-on! The thing I loved the most though is how much Justin didn’t care what other people thought about his plan and went for it even though he knew he’d get judged. Go Justin! The scene with Juliet and him at the end was super sweet! Also, Max’s character is the best! That is all… he is just the best! A mix of comedy and deep moments… what else could you ask for? Which prom would you have chosen… anti-zombie prom or ā€œbest night everā€ prom?

#2 – Sadie Hawkins Day (Even Stevens – S2E14) *Ep. 19 on Disney+

So, I used to be afraid to watch Even Stevens as a kid. I had seen the movie and the beginning scene with the weird chair-contraption freaked me out! Well, at the beginning of this year, I conquered my fear and watched the first episode… and was hooked! The early 2000s vibes are everything! Louis’s character was an automatic favorite because of how random and hilarious he was along with his friends! This episode is one of my favorites! Louis and Tawny are one of my favorite ships because they were best friends for so long and slowly learned that they had feelings for each other…. so sweet! The talk they have at the end of the episode is so cute, but it’s the laugh-out-loud moments throughout the WHOLE episode that placed this in the top-two!! It also has some fall vibes because of the ā€œhoedownā€ theme. So, it’s the perfect episode to watch this October!

#1 – Right Dance, Wrong Partner (Blue Water High – S1E19)

This is the episode that gave out the most ā€œschool danceā€ vibes… if that makes sense! Like, it made me remember all the feelings of getting ready for a school dance and all the hype around it. This is one of the only episodes that has a ā€œgetting readyā€ montage and if you’ve seen Blue Water High, then you know the music is a whole vibe as well. The song and the montage made this episode! Also, the season one characters are my FAVORITES of Blue Water High! The episode has some drama thrown in for sure, but it all gets solved at the end… sort of! There is definitely some tension throughout the episode, which adds to the teenage angst of school dances! I wrote down a quote that Deb said to Perri when Perri was feeling bad that no boy was asking her to the dance, even though all the boys were saying how every guy wanted to go with her. Here’s the quote…

ā€œWhat you want to see when you look back on your formal photographs is a confident chick who doesn’t need a boy to show her how to have a good time.ā€

Yes. Yes. Yes. So true! This episode is one of my favorites and deserves to be number-one for sure!

šŸ’™šŸŒŠšŸ’“šŸ’ƒšŸ’™

This was so much fun ranking the top ten nostalgic school dance episodes! There are so many memories attached to these episodes, especially the Hannah Montana one. When I rewatched it, I knew every line before they even said it because of how much I saw that episode as a kid! All of these are definitely nostalgic and takes me back to the early 2000s! ALL the vibes! That’s what this blog is ALL about! Celebrating good times and man, there were some GOOD times in the early 2000s!

  1. Definitely love all of these episodes. Except, the Blue Water High one, just because I haven’t seen it. But, now I might check it out. Crazy how I was just telling you about being zombie-Hannah for Halloween before I read this. Two great minds think alike.ā¤ļø ya sis
