from the Disney Channel Original MONSTOBER movie Girl vs. Monster!

Or
F – Face
E – Everything
A – And
R – Rise
Skylar and her friends definitely learn how to face
everything and rise in this movie! Add in some crazy-good songs and you have
the perfect movie to watch this October!
I can’t wait to share my ranking of these incredible songs!
So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get started!
👻💜👻💜👻
(least to most favorite)
#5 – Had Me @ Hello (Ryan Dean – Luke Benward)
This song is sung twice in the movie. This is the acoustic version with Ryan and his band performing it. I do love this version of the song even though it’s last on this list. I think it’s a cute song and the acoustic version makes it more sentimental. This song had me @ hello! Okay… that was a little much. I’m just going to stop now… umm… enjoy listening to this song below… the “garage” vibe is perfect with the leaves outside blowing in the wind… now I’m describing the atmosphere in the movie… okay… I promise I’m done now… just play the song so I can stop now… now you have me @ goodbye… for now. Mwahaha!
#4 – Had Me @ Hello (Reprise – Duet/Trio Version)
Look, I really do like this song! I know both versions made it last on this list, but that’s just because the other songs in the movie had more flare. I like how this version starts out as a duet, but then the harmonizing begins and Myra jumps in and joins them. It was the perfect song to end the movie on a happy note… or shall I say “high note”… get it? Okay, here I go again. Let’s just play the song people!
#3 – Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now (Reprise)
So, this version of this song was actually going to be last on this list because umm… the whole creepy-voice-change thing. However, the vibe in this version has a lot of energy. I know it’s supposed to be the creepy lady taking over Myra’s body that is singing, but the rock vibe works for this song! The little chorography adds the flare I was talking about above and the crowd was getting into it. So, creepiness aside, the lyrics are still the same in this version and I do love them! I guess nothing was gonna stop me from putting this as number four! Okay… this is getting out of hand now… I’m gonna stop me now… NEXT!
#2 – Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now (Skylar Lewis – Olivia Holt)
YAY! The non-creepy-lady version! This is the first song in the movie and it shows Skylar’s confidence on stage and in herself. This is the perfect opening song because all the characters are there having fun together and everyone is happy decorating for the party.
Skylar begins this movie being fearless, but things change.
The second time Skylar sings this song is at the party and she begins to have
stage-fright. Fears she never had before are beginning to appear and she doesn’t
finish the song the second time she sings it. I love how this song really
portrays Skylar’s character in each version! The first time she sings it she is
full of confidence and energy and the second time you can hear the actual nervousness
and fear in her voice because of everything she’s experienced in-between
versions of this song!
Same stage… different emotions…
#1 – Fearless (Skylar Lewis – Olivia Holt)
Okay, I don’t know about you, but this song is going to be on repeat this WHOLE month! They did not go wrong with this song! The scene begins with Skylar singing by herself with no band with her. Acapella for the win! Olivia Holt’s voice in this song is incredible! You can hear all the different emotions in her voice. The push-and-pull of fear and overcoming that fear... amazing! This song gets stopped at the beginning and resumes with the band joining her and everyone dancing and having fun around them. Skylar’s confidence is back at the end of this song and it shows how much her character overcame in order to get that confidence she had at the beginning of the movie back.
Also, the visuals at the beginning of this scene were wonderfully done. The purple, black, and green mists floating above her and Skylar in the middle of it singing by herself… definitely a highlight in the movie!
Did y’all have fun listening to all of these incredible
songs?!? Which one was your favorite?
I had so much fun creating this post and yes, all of these
songs were on repeat as I typed all of this! A WHOLE mood for sure! I loved how
this movie is all about facing your fears because we all have them! For
example, I had to overcome a fear at work yesterday when I had to work a position
I have never worked alone before! I was honestly contemplating running… NO JOKE!
But, instead, I faced everything and was proud of myself when I overcame the fear
of failing!
What is one fear you’ve had to overcome lately? Overcoming a
fear isn’t just a one moment thing. Even if it takes multiple tries, learning to
overcome your fear is part of the process. It’s the growth that matters, not
the amount of time it takes for you to overcome it.
Thank you so much for reading this post! I’ll see you next Tuesday for more celebrating! Don’t forget to celebrate each day because each day is a memory in the making!
